Renault and Geely have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will allow them to co-operate and co-develop future cars focused on the Chinese and even South Korean markets.
Under the MOU, Renault and Geely will share resources and technologies which the focus being on hybrid-electric vehicles for the fast-growing Asian markets.
Following Geely’s open-source strategy for its vehicle architectures, it will possibly be used to underpin Renault-branded hybrid vehicles starting with Renault Samsung Motors in Korea.
Renault has revealed that they will explore the localization of vehicles based on Lynk & Co’s enery-efficient vehicle platforms.
Meanwhile, Renault will contribute on branding strategy, channel and service development, and defining the appropriate customer journey.
Both partners will continue to explore in-depth further potential, under the spirit of open and innovative partnership mode.
