Launched back in 2015, the Bajaj Maxima has sold over 50,000 examples making it the country’s number one three-wheeled vehicle. This year, Trimotors, the distributor of Bajaj is bringing in an upgraded version with more body configurations making it suitable for a wide array of businesses.
The new Bajaj Maxima is powered by a 236.2-cc DTS-i. The “Digital Twin Spark Ignition” system delivers 26 percent more power as compared to conventional single spark engines of the same capacity, while also delivering increased efficiency. In the new Maxima Z, it makes 8.19 kw (11 horsepower) at 4,500 rpm and 20.45 Nm at 3,500 rpm.
Together with its enhanced engine performance, the new 4-speed Bajaj Maxima comes with a heavy-duty CV shaft at the back and a dual front fork suspension (Maxima Z) allowing it to carry increased payload through difficult terrain more easily, while also further reducing maintenance costs.
The Bajaj Maxima Z also has a modernized dashboard with a built-in radio and MP3 player.
This year, Trimotors is introducing two body styles for the Bajaj Maxima—the Maxima Cargo and the Maxima Z.
Designed for entrepreneurs or businesses that require a last-mile delivery solution, the Maxima Cargo comes standard with a pickup body, but is also available in a wide array of body styles including a mobile food stall and closed van. Meanwhile, for LGUs, the Maxima is also available with police, fire truck, and ambulance bodies.
Meanwhile, the Maxima Z is for those who want multi-purpose flexibility. It comes with a 60/40 split-folding rear seat allowing owners to fully utilize its 800-liter cabin space either for passengers, cargo, or both.
The new Bajaj Maxima Cargo starts at P 208,888, while the Maxima Z retails for P 221,888. Both three-wheelers are now available at over 800 authorized dealer stores. Bajaj also has 700-plus accredited service and parts shops nationwide as well for aftersales requirements.
