Designed and engineered by Honda R&D Asia Pacific, the all-new BR-V stays true to the concept car. In fact, the only modifications surround the light clusters with the LED DRLs moving into the headlights itself and the lower portion now dedicated to the front fog lamps. At the back, it retains the LED light guides—a feature first seen in the fourth-generation City.
The all-new BR-V aims to become the safest small SUV in the market. Dual SRS airbags, side-impact airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control is standard. But on the highest grade trim, it debuts Honda SENSING—a suite of advanced driver assist technology which gives it features such as forward collision warning with automatic braking, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, and lane keep assist. It also has Honda LaneWatch—a camera-based system that helps see through the car’s rear blind spot.
Other new features include an engine push start/stop with remote engine start and walkaway automatic lock, a 4.2-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 220-volt power inverter in the third row.
As a response to consumer feedback in the ASEAN region, the 2022 BR-V maintains its high ground clearance stance with 220 mm of clearance. Power comes from a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine. Shared with the City, it pushes out 121 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm—the best in its class. The accompanying gearbox is either a 6-speed manual or Earth Dreams CVT.
In Indonesia, where the BR-V goes on sale first, it comes in four grades: S, E, Prestige, and Prestige Honda SENSING. There are five colors to choose from: Tafetta White, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and new on the BR-V, Premium Opal White Pearl.
I am really not that well versed with regards to performance specs of common cars like this, BRV. Malaking gulat ko lang na yung 121hp at 145nm ay best in class na pala sa category neto.
ReplyDeleteIt also has the best transmission as its competitors uses basic 4speed AT like Xpander. This segment's focus is in practicality anyway (seats and space) and not performance.

ReplyDeleteStill the Best Small MPV in the market is the Mitsubishi Expander. In/out you can never wrong to choose the Expander. The best all around vehicle for family of 7.

DeleteOnly 2 airbags, but atleast it comes with Honda sensing. Flat folding seats is a huge improvement over the clumsy tumble setup in the current model. Interior is not as plasticky as its competitors, and 121hp + CVT is still somehow best in class. Hopefully they worked on the jarring ride and unacceptably poor NVH.
