Nissan Lauded For Green Assembly Plant In Thailand


Nissan’s commercial vehicle factory in Samut Prakarn has been awarded the Green Industry Award from the Thailand’s Ministry of Industry for its commitment to continuously improve production processes and environmental management.

The award recognizes Nissan’s environmentally friendly business operations, along with responsibility to society both inside and outside the organization, and throughout the supply chain for sustainable development.

The Samut Prakarn plant assembles the Navara and Terra for the Asia and Oceania markets including the Philippines. The plant boasts of solar panels on the roof, waste sorting, water pollution management and industrial waste pollution management.

The Thailand Ministry of Industry launched the Green Industry project, to reward the environmentally-friendly companies and manufacturers. As a result of receiving the Green Industry Level 4 award, Nissan’s commercial vehicle plant at Bangna-Trad KM.22 Road, becomes one of just two manufacturing and assembly sites in Thailand that has achieved this level.

As Nissan’s vehicle manufacturing hub in the Asia and Oceania, the company focuses on continuous development and improvement of production processes and environmental management which can save operating, utilities, and waste management costs. This also includes social and environmental responsibility both within and outside the organization and supply chain. There are also ongoing activities to promote the participation of all employees in environmental matters. It also improves the quality of life of employees and society.
