Suzuki will halt production at its factory in Hungary for two weeks in September due to the global shortage of microchips.
The plant in Esztergom will suspend production starting September 6 to September 8, a Suzuki spokesperson said. The factory builds the Vitara for the Philippine market as well as the SX4 S-Cross.
Last year it produced 112,475 vehicles at the plant. In 2019, it celebrated a milestone by building its 500,000th Vitara SUV.
