The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI) is continuing its new product salvo with the impending arrival of the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer just three months after it introduced the sub-compact Tracker.
Don’t adjust your screens. The all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer has nothing to do with its predecessor. The 2022 Trailblazer is no longer a body-on-frame mid-sized 7-seater SUV. Instead, it’s a 5-seater unibody compact SUV meant to challenge the likes of the Geely Azkarra, Ford Territory, and to some extent, the likes of the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5.
Like the Tracker, the 2022 Trailblazer carries the newest Chevrolet design language. It features a much more modern silhouette, taut bodylines, and a bold hood shape. According to the carmaker, it’s supposed to resemble a closed fist when viewed from the side. Naturally, more traditional Chevrolet cues such as dual port grille continue on.
Inside, the Trailblazer will come with the latest version of MyLink+ which offers a multitude of connectivity options such as Apple CarPlay, USB (both Type A and Type C), and Bluetooth.
Powering the 2022 Trailblazer is a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. This engine makes 164 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 240 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. Transmission is is a CVT. According to the manufacturer, it should be enough for a 9.3-second 0 to 100 km/h sprint.
So far, TCCCI has remained mum on what sort of features the all-new Trailblazer will have. However, the likely suspects such as LED head- and taillights, and a panoramic sunroof are safe bets. Hopefully, it’ll also feature advanced driver assist technology too such as lane keep assist/lane departure warning, blind spot indicators, and automatic emergency braking.
As for pricing, sources say the 2022 Trailblazer will start at P 1,488,888.
I expect Volkswagen to announce the Taos by Oct or Nov. It's great to have more options again on this 1.4-1.6M price bracket.

This one better have complete safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, AEB or Lane Departure Warning/Assist. Or else, it'll be just the same as Tracker.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking at the US and Chinese versions of trailblazers. Also expect it to be bigger, roomier, have better materials and hopefully an AWD version.

Global model: T-Cross, Stonic
China made: All of them, including Territory (not a global model though)
Look at JMC's Ford Territory, for example: loaded to the core with features (even has adaptive cruise control for the dirt-cheap price.)

ReplyDeleteThe Chevy Local distributor always has preservation of all it's for sale cars. They don't give a shit about the competition. Selling Price is expensive, lack of features and now diminishing Dealers in exchange for China MG cars. May be the American carmaker will shop for a new partner.
ReplyDeleteChevy PH needs a 7-seater SUV looking vehicle to compete with its old rivals. Compact crossover is a dying segment here taken over by sub-compact China made vehicles. Since Chevy sources also from China so there should be one model they can adopt. Ford may offer the Equator, MG with RX8, Maxus with D90.
