The 2022 GS4 is the first global GAC model to get the brand’s new “Light and Shadow” aesthetics. It gains dual LED headlights, a floating roof design, and “laser-beam” flying wing LED taillights. As with most GAC models, it also sports a sunroof—in this case, it measures 1.32 square meters, while at each corner are 17-inch alloy wheels. It’s made available in five colors: Benita Gray, Ivory White, Rosefinch Red, Elegant Black, and the image color, Lightning Blue.

Underneath, the GS4 rides on a brand-new platform dubbed the GPMA (Global Platform Modular Architecture). Not only does this architecture focus on ride and handling (it does have independent suspension on all four corners), but it focuses on comfort and refinement with its all-round silent design (ASD). It’s also ultra-safe with 62 percent of its body made of high-strength steel.

Powering the GS4 is a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine making 168 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque. Channeling this power to the ground is a 6-speed automatic driving the front wheels. Cruise control and an Eco comes as standard as well.

The migration to the new platform also equates to even bigger space inside. Not only does the front seats offer excellent room, but the rear’s flat floor means being able to fit three adults in comfort. In terms of cargo carrying capacity, the GS4’s rear seats can be collapsed flat forming 1,540 liters of trunk space.

Aside from the aforementioned LED head- and taillights, panoramic sunroof, and 17-inch alloy wheels, the 2022 GS4 comes with an 8-inch touchscreen-based infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, easy-to-clean leatherette seats (the steering wheel is covered in leather), and a push button engine start/stop.

For safety, it has 4 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tire pressure sensors, and rear parking sensors with reverse camera.

The 2022 GAC GS4 retails for P 1.098 million and comes standard with a 5-year / 150,000-kilometer warranty.
