Mazda Philippines is opening 2022 with the arrival of its refreshed flagship seven-seater SUV, the CX-9. The 2022 CX-9 continues to raise the standard of class, comfort, and elegance in the segment while the introduction of a third variant brings with it a stronger and more commanding presence.
For 2022, the CX-9 continues with the 2WD (Touring) and AWD (Exclusive) variants. However, it’s now joined by a high-grade 2WD variant dubbed Black Edition. As its name implies, the CX-9 Black Edition features various high-gloss black elements such as the grille, side mirrors, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
For added safety, the CX-9 Black Edition has a 360-degree camera as well as i-Activsense which bundles Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The electronic parking brake also adds an auto hold function as well.
Below the CX-9 Black Edition, the 2WD Touring has 18-inch gray metallic alloy wheels, 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and a 4-way power adjustable front passenger seat. Wireless device charging and wireless Apple CarPlay is now standard too.
Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line CX-9 AWD Exclusive has a new gray metallic front grille, bright finished 20-inch alloy wheels, and larger tailpipe finishers. Inside, has Oriental Brown Nappa leather seats with a diamond-stitched pattern. This variant also has a sunroof.
Further improving its long-distance driving comfort, the CX-9 AWD Exclusive also has adaptive radar cruise control. It also has Smart City Brake Support for the front and back, reducing the probability of collisions with oncoming vehicles in and out of parking spaces.
All variants of the 2022 CX-9 remains powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged Skyactiv-G engine. Running on regular 93-octane, it produces 231 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque (it goes up to 250 horsepower on 95-octane). This is mated to a 6-speed automatic with standard paddle shifters. Further improving its handling, it now comes with G-Vectoring Control Plus. This system improves stability by lightly applying braking force to the outer wheel as the steering wheel is returned to the center position.
As with every available Mazda, all variants of the 2022 Mazda CX-9 will enjoy the premium ownership experience afforded by Mazda Philippines’ 5-Year Free Service Plan. It covers the expenses of periodic maintenance at either 6-month or 10,000-kilometer intervals, for up to 5 years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
The 2022 Mazda CX-9 line-up comes eight colors: Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Sonic Silver, Machine Gray, Soul Red Crystal, Titanium Flash, Polymetal Gray. It is priced as follows:
