The made-for-EV platform gives it an impressive 643-kilometer (400 miles) range thanks to a battery pack that’s integrated into the vehicle’s structure. Additionally, the chassis has independent front and rear suspension, with power transferred to the available 24-inch wheels. Automatic Adaptive Air Suspension enables the vehicle to be raised or lowered up to 2 inches (50 mm). And despite its full-sized pickup truck designation, the Silverado will have impressive maneuverability thanks to four-wheel steering.

Twin electric motors will offer up to 664 horsepower and 1,057 Nm of torque giving it a 0 to 97 km/h (0 to 60 mph) of less than 4.5 seconds. Fast charging capabilities enable it to gain 160 kilometers of range with just 10 minutes of charging. It can also use its stored energy to provide power for electric equipment or even charge another EV.

Thanks to the unique packaging of EVs, the Silverado EV has a lockable, weatherproof compartment where the engine typically sits, providing space to fit a large hardside suitcase. Moreover, the leisure-oriented RST model has a 7-gallon modular console, a fixed glass roof, and a mid-gate. The unique mid-gate allows cargo measuring up to 10 feet (3 meters) to fit easily into the cargo hold.

Inside, the Silverado EV uses a Linux-based software platform driving its 17-inch LCD infotainment screen and 11-inch digital driver’s display. Features include a hands-free start, where the vehicle turns on automatically when the driver enters the vehicle—no need to push buttons or twist any keys. The in-house developed OS also offers over-the-air updates as well as access to several cloud-based services.

The Silverado EV won’t come cheap. The first model—the RST First Edition costs USD 105,000 (P 5.36 million). Chevrolet will then introduce more variants to the line-up with retail prices starting from USD 50,000 (P 2.55 million).
