Patience is a virtue. This as would-be Mazda buyers will finally get their hands on their beloved new cars after a prolonged waiting period caused by the on-going global semi-conductor and parts shortages.
A large batch composed of 176 Completely Built Up (CBU) units cleared customs and arrived at the Mazda Center of Excellence (MCOE) in Cabuyao, Laguna where they will be prepped before delivery to one of 16 authorized Mazda dealerships nationwide within the next few days.
According to Steven Tan, President of Bermaz Auto Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country, the arrival signifies a “good mix” of vehicles from Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia.
It is composed of the 2022 Mazda Collection which includes the refreshed Mazda2, Mazda3 (including the M Hybrid), CX-30 M Hybrid, BT-50, CX-5, CX-8, and CX-9. There are also 38 units of the MX-5—a vehicle that has been hit especially hard by the global supply chain issues.
The arrival of these units is certainly welcome news, but Mr. Tan is opting to remain cautious since the entire situation remains fluid. It has gone to the point where Mazda had to issue a formal apology to its customers due to the delays.
Nonetheless, Mazda is doing everything they can, and Mr. Tan reiterates that the best way to get a vehicle allocation is to place a reservation as soon as possible.
“While production in Japan across all brands is experiencing a shortfall, Mazda is trying hard to meet our customer demand for high quality premium products,” says Tan. “The most important decision for those who want to consider a Mazda vehicle is to place an order, so that we can submit the order to Japan, and monitor the reservation.”

DeleteThat. And expensive parts that are not readily available for those outside the metro. In addition, Mazda's Kodo design is getting really stale.
Less practicality too. Interiors are known to be tighter compared to competitors... Yeah the design is a bit boring now. It was good years ago.
Deletesame, i like the last gen mazda design especially the 3 hatchback, its so much better than the current, but hey the cx-50 looks dope, not sure if its a new design language but i do hope it translate to cx-60
DeleteWhich ones are from Thailand? Do they usually import Mazdas from Thailand? Or this is a temporary thing to augment the delayed orders?
ReplyDeleteOnly Mazda2 and BT-50 are sourced from Thailand. It's not temporary, it is really is their sourcing for those two vehicles.
DeleteCX-5 and CX-8 are from Malaysia.
The rest are from Japan.
So that's why the pricing of the mazda2 and bt-50 are more competitive compared to other models, makes sense now.
DeleteMazda parts & aftersales overpriced. They have good handling but they appear to be gas guzzlers.
ReplyDeletewent to mazda to buy stabilizer bushings. they quoted me 1k. EACH. 1k each for some freaking tiny rubber stabilizer bushings. then they said the parts would arrive 1 to 2 weeks.
