Aside from the Silverado EV, Chevrolet will be expanding their EV lineup to cover even entry-level models as well. One of the first offerings on the table is the 2023 Equinox EV, a compact SUV that will start at just around USD 30,000 (P 1.533 million).
Available in several trims, including the luxury-oriented LT and sporty RS, the Equinox will use the company’s Ultium Platform. A version of the Ultium platform underpins the Silverado EV and Hummer EV. It will also be used by Honda on its own line of all-electric SUVs and crossovers.
Not much is known about the Equinox, but Chevrolet did release these renderings ahead of its official launch. However, as Chevrolet’s second highest selling nameplate, it’s important that they get this model right. The carmaker say that it’ll provide an affordable EV option in the highest volume segment.
A larger three-row EV, the Blazer EV SUV will also be available in 2023.
P1.53M for a compact SUV EV that doesn't come with a Chinese nameplate... If only the Philippine government waived the taxes for EVs as an incentive for early adoption then that price tag could be a catalyst.
