Chery has revealed a new design language which they will roll out starting with the OMODA 5 crossover SUV.
Dubbed, “Art in Motion,” Chery says it “seeks to bring the art of movement to life by marrying dynamic behavior and airflow.” It also aims to blend “excitement with leading technology, far behind creating sci-fi and futuristic visual perception.”
A couple of the key features in the new design language include the diamond front grille, sporty stance, and layered rear end.
Now, the sketches (above) does have some semblance of Hyundai to them, but the resulting production OMODA 5 (below) is a bit more unique.
The “borderless” grille filled in with a diamond-shaped pattern is certainly something as are the contrasting colored 18-inch wheels. It also happens to have a split headlight design with T-shaped LED DRLs at the edge of grille, and a double rear spoiler as well.
Chery has confirmed that the OMODA 5 and its Art in Motion design concept will be exported to global markets with South Africa, Australia, Africa, and yes, Asia getting it soon.
This vehicle above with masking taped wheels look ugly on paper. Hope this will be better in metal.
