Unvaccinated Individuals Will Not Be Allowed In Malls, Public Transportation Under Alert Level 3

Unvaccinated adults and minors will not be allowed to enter malls, restaurants, and even access public transportation except for essential trips for as long as Metro Manila remains under Alert Level 3.

MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos says that establishments will now require the presentation of vaccination cards and identification cards upon entry.

The Metro Manila Council, which is composed of mayors in the National Capital Region have agreed in principle to the new measure, and will draft its finalized guidelines soon.

The proposed measure will, in effect, restrict unvaccinated individuals to their homes as they are not allowed to enter establishments such as malls, restaurants (both indoor and alfresco dining), and even public transportation.

Meanwhile, for those going to work, the MMDA is mulling to require a negative RT-PCR test every two weeks at the employee’s own expense which must be presented in lieu of a vaccination card.

Individual local government units or LGUs may issue additional restrictions.
