2022 Peugeot 3008 Lands In The Philippines For P 2.09M

The next chapter of Peugeot’s Philippine resurgence is here. Barely a month after Astara, the French brand’s new local distributor showed off the 7-seater 5008, they’ve now uncovered their latest vehicle: the 2022 Peugeot 3008 compact SUV.

With over a million units sold worldwide, the Peugeot 3008 is Europe’s best-selling compact SUV. Yet, in order to maintain its lead in the highly competitive segment, designers have given it a new, revolutionary look. The hood now carries the model designation, while a new frameless grille makes for a bolder, more modern appearance. LED headlights with integrated cornering lamps come standard. A fin-like pattern below the headlights allows the elements to connect visually, while black side scoops and a painted tread plate add some sportiness.

Towards the side, the 2022 Peugeot 3008 features 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/55R18 tires as standard, while at the back, the 3D lion claw lighting signature with sequential turn signal indicators is in full display. The lighting cluster itself is hidden beneath a smoked glass lens that visually connects to the black tailgate strip. A hands-free power tailgate has also been added.

Inside, the 2022 Peugeot 3008 comes with the brand’s trademark i-Cockpit. With a compact steering wheel and the gauge cluster mounted at the top, it promises a simpler, more intuitive driving experience. Speaking of the touchscreen, a new 10-inch capacitive touchscreen adorns the center area. While, piano-style toggle switches offer quick access to various comfort features.

For comfort and convenience features, the Peugeot 3008 now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless device charging, and a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster with high-definition graphics. This is on top of the usual accruements including power adjustable front seats, leather seating, dual zone climate control with rear vents, and a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of powertrain, Peugeot Philippines is staying put with its tried-and-tested 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Equipped with a twin-scroll turbo and direct injection, it manages 165 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque from as low as 1,400 rpm. This is then mated to a 6-speed automatic with cruise control. Despite only being offered with front-wheel drive, the Peugeot 3008’s Advanced Grip Control offers all-wheel drive-like capability by optimizing both the traction and stability control systems to work in one of five modes—Normal, Sand, Snow, Mud, and ESP Off.

Furthering safety, the 3008 not only comes with the usual set of 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control with hill start assist and hill decent control, but it also has blind spot monitoring, active lane keep assist, driver attention warning, tire pressure monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors.

Like the Peugeot 5008 and the upcoming Peugeot 2008, the Peugeot 3008 is sourced from Peugeot’s state-of-the-art factory in Gurun, Malaysia. Retail sales start today with a price of P 2,090,000 in four colors: Pearl White, Amazonite Gray, Nera Black, and Metallic Copper.

  1. They should have retained the previous SRP considering they sold the last batch of previous models at around Php1.7M

    1. Specs are a bit different, but yes. The previous 1.6 Allure was priced at P 1.790M, while the 2.0 Diesel Allure was P 2.090M.

  2. Previous SRP was 1.890M, but since 2020 theyve been trying to sell with 100k to 200k discount. I recommended to a colleague and he just bought one last Dec @1.65M after discount. At Php2.09M even with improved looks and specs this is a tough sell.

    1. P 1.65M seems reasonable...you end up in the same price bracket as the CR-V / CX-5 / Forester so you end up getting people who're cross-shopping between brands. Let's see how the new one performs...they have high hopes for this one.

    2. Im a fan actually, but not a fan enough to purchase one with that pricing.

Hopefully Malaysia brings in the all-new 308 and 508 so we can get them too.

  3. That's quite a price jump just by adding ADAS. Not significant of a price difference against the 5008 too. It makes the 5008 a better value buy.

    1. P 2.09M vs P 2.26M--not much indeed. It's down to either you want a 5- or a 7-seater.

  4. Another new distributor/importer misreading the Philippine market. Reminds me of Columbian's Kia and Hyundai's female president exorbitant pricing practices. expect 200-300k discounting soon.

  6. If they are aiming for a semi-premium strategy then that better come with atleast 3yrs free PMS, dedicated mobile app, 24/7 service, and other add-ons to make it worthwhile for buyers who want a left fiel choice.

  7. Is this a premium brand? 2m sounds okay because i was comparing it to a lexus but i found out in this comment section that it just got a huge price bump. also how big is this compared to a cx-5?

  8. this would have been perfect if it has the FOCAL audio system and also if the price bump isnt that huge

  9. I looked at the specs and its just neck to neck with the Geely Coolray.. I'm confused with the 800k price difference.. I mean 1.6 engine @ 2M?Hhhmm.. Well maybe because its Peugeot..
