In celebration of the Mazda’s special relationship with the Miata Club of the Philippines, the carmaker has announced a special limited run of its MX-5 exclusive to the Philippine market: the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition.
Unlike the recently announced 2022 MX-5 which will have an option between an Obsidian Black or Cherry Red soft top, the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition comes exclusively with a Navy Blue soft top with a Platinum Quartz Metallic body color. At each corner, bright-finished 17-inch alloy wheels with 205/45R17 tires replace the high-gloss black found in the regular MX-5. It will also have a red stripe running across the hood all the way to the trunk.
Inside, the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition will offer a 9-speaker Bose sound system, black leather seats, and auto-dimming rear view mirror as standard. Mechanically, it remains unchanged and for that is powered by a 184-horsepower 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine. It also gets the Kinematic Posture Control as standard.
Each vehicle will also come with a limited-edition Miata Club of the Philippines commemorative book.
The MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition will be available in both manual and automatic variants at P 2,250,000 and P 2,300,000, respectively.
Further ensuring the collectability of the sportscar, it will only be produced for a limited time first deliveries starting in September 2022 and final deliveries slated for September 2023.
While priority reservations will start with members of the Miata Club of the Philippines starting today, Mazda Philippines says that the MX-5 MCP 25th Anniversary Edition will be open to public purchase starting February 28.
And no, in case you ask, buying this special edition MX-5 doesn’t make one automatically a member of the MCP.
This Miata really looks nice 👍
