The Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) once again opens its doors to the motoring public this April 7-10, 2022 at the World Trade Center. The Philippines’ biggest annual motoring event is making an onsite comeback after a two-year absence. As always, MIAS will feature the latest models from some of the country’s leading manufacturers and distributors.
Nissan Philippines is putting the Nissan Intelligent Mobility front and center by bringing in its diverse fleet of vehicles including the Navara, Terra, Almera, Urvan, and the all-electric Leaf. Enthusiasts will also see the 370Z and GT-R, and they may even catch a preview of the Kicks e-Power as well.
Subaru, meanwhile is bringing back the highly-popular Russ Swift precision driving show. Guinness World Record holder Russ Swift will be performing at the World Trade Center three times daily during MIAS behind the wheel of the new Forester and Subaru BRZ sportscar.
Marking the appointment of a new distributor, Peugeot will bring its distinctive automotive design and technology at the show. Not only will recently-launched vehicles like the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 be on display, but showgoers will see the revised Traveller Premium as well as the Peugeot 2008 compact crossover.
Fresh from its launch, MG Philippines will put the all-new HS compact SUV on centerstage. It will be joined by the rest of the local line-up such as the MG 5, ZS, and ZST. They have also confirmed that they will be bringing in a “surprise” at the show hinting perhaps at the arrival of their much-awaited 7-seater MG RX8.They will also showcase some models from its past including the MG GS, MG GT, MG 360, and MG 3.
Sister brand Chevrolet, meanwhile, will likely use MIAS to mark the Philippine debut of the all-new Suburban SUV. It will join the all-new Trailblazer and Tracker in the Chevrolet Philippines line-up. The Camaro and mid-engined Corvette are also making an appearance as well.
Chery Auto Philippines will bring their entire all-SUV line-up to MIAS from the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 2 Pro, Tiggo 5X, Tiggo 7 Pro, and Tiggo 8. They have also teased that the Tiggo 8 Pro will be launched at the show.
Meanwhile, Foton will be featuring its line-up of commercial vehicles like the Thunder, Toplander, Transvan, and Traveller. They’ll be joined by the Toano van and Gratour mini-delivery van.
Over at Mitsubishi, the new Xpander MPV will be shown to the public for the first time. It will be flanked at the booth by the Black Series variants of the Montero Sport, Strada Athlete, and current Xpander. The Mirage G4 is also slated to be there.
On the other hand, Geely will showcase its Emgrand sub-compact sedan to the public joining its Coolray sub-compact SUV and Okavango mid-sized SUV. The compact Azkarra will also be there as well.
Over to Volvo Cars Philippines, they’ll be showcasing their new all-electrified line-up with their range of self-charging or plug-in hybrids. The star of their pavilion will undoubtedly be the new long wheelbase Volvo S90 Boost Electric which will be joined by the 7-seater XC90 and compact XC40 and XC60 SUVs.
Changan, which made its brand debut at the online MIAS Wired in 2020 will bring in their new CS35 Plus sub-compact SUV along with another special surprise. It will join the rest of their line-up which includes the Alsvin, CS75 Plus, and CS95 SUVs, and Eado EV460 all-electric sedan.
Finally, GAC Philippines will debut its all-new GA8 midsized sedan at MIAS. It will be joined by its line-up of value-oriented sedans, SUVs, and MPVs such as the GA4, GS3, GS4, GS8 SUVs, and the GN6 and GN8 MPVs.
Finally, Mutt Motorcycles, a UK brand that merges vintage-bike styling and modern-bike performance and reliability, will make its public debut at MIAS.
Over at the lobby, Method Wheels, known for high-performance off-roader wheels for race and street use, will be showing its specially-equipped vehicles at MIAS, while Porsche Design will be celebrating 50 years of the firm founded by the grandson and namesake of Ferdinand Porsche, Ferdinand Alexander “Butzi” Porsche.
Car lovers can once again personally see and feel the excitement of a world-class auto show at the Manila International Auto Show on April 7-10, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Doors open at 10 AM.
