The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive distributor of MG in the Philippines is looking to continue their strong momentum in 2022.
After a record-breaking 2021 in terms of sales, wherein they sold 6,343 units—overtaking both Geely and Kia in the process—the carmaker is now aiming to hit five digits in terms of sales this year. Revealed at the official launch of its MG HS compact SUV, TCCCI President Atty. Albert Arcilla says they are targeting to hit 12,000 units this year.
If MG Philippines is available to achieve this, it is enough for the sixth spot in the industry possibly overtaking Honda in the process (based on 2021 industry figures).
“The HS model introduction paves the way to our target of achieving more than 12,000-unit sales for 2022,” says Atty. Arcilla. “It headlines the many other model introductions of new MG products this year as we continuously enrich our line-up for MG Philippines.”
Separately, Arcilla revealed that MG Philippines is targeting to launch between four to five new models this year, both in “new and existing categories in which they’re currently present in.”
Although he didn’t get into specifics, these could include the delayed RX8 7-seater mid-sized SUV, all-electric MG ZS EV, and even the MG Extender which is a pickup truck currently sold in Thailand. It could also point to the possibility of bringing to market updated versions of the MG 5 and MG 6.
Hand-in-hand with their aggressive product roll out, Arcilla also stressed that their dealership expansion plans will continue in 2022. Last year, their dealership count reached 39, ten more compared to 2020.
“Our mission at MG Philippines is and has always been, to offer superior quality products and to serve the evolving mobility needs of the Philippine motoring public,” Arcilla says. “We remain committed to providing excellent service to all MG owners, with bespoke and personalized aftersales services, and an impeccable ownership experience. These are the high standards that we at MG Philippines will perpetually promise and deliver.”

DeleteEnough posting here as if you're texting and typing on a 2000's Nokia phone.
Your broken cellphone text speak is annoying.
I hope they bring the all-new MG5 which was launched in Thailand last year and also the Facelifted MG6 which was launched in China last 2020.
ReplyDeleteExpect large discounts by Q4 this year just for them to reach 12,000 unit sales LOL
ReplyDeleteToyota,Mitsubishi,Nissan,Ford,Honda and Suzuki rely on Low DP and Zero Downpayment plans just to achieve higher sales volume..MG is doing that too for years.
