Changan PH Now Pushing All-Electric Eado EV460 Due To High Fuel Prices

Despite making its local debut alongside the other members of the “Changan 5” last November 2020, Changan Motor Philippines is finally pushing its all-electric Eado EV460 sedan because of, you guessed it, record high fuel prices.

As one of the first Chinese automakers to roll out electric vehicles for volume production, Changan is no stranger to EVs. In 2018, they’ve reached a milestone by moving 90,000 EVs, and by 2025, they are targeting cumulative sales of three million units as part of their “Shangri-La Plan.”

Priced at P 1,828,000 and now available for order at all Changan dealerships nationwide, the Changan Eado EV460 is one of the most affordable all-electric vehicles in the country. Its permanent magnet synchronous motor provides 136 horsepower and 245 Nm of instantaneous torque. The “460” in the name connotes its cruising range in kilometers, surpassing many EVs in the same price range.

More than just pure range, the Eado EV460 has the brand’s “three-in-one electric drive” which is supposed to resolve the issue of slow charging. Using a household outlet, it takes eight hours for a full charge, while just 30 minutes on a fast charge (30 to 80 percent).

Meant to convey “intelligent green travel” for Filipinos, the Eado EV460 comes with leather seats, an automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch high-definition touchscreen, and even a sunroof.

In the safety department, it offers an enviable suite of smart safety features: 6 airbags, smart key with illuminated push start/stop button, ABS, electronic stability control, reverse parking sensors with a rear camera, and even a tire pressure monitoring system.

The Eado EV460 will be on display at the Changan pavilion at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The show runs from April 7 to 10, 2022 from 10 AM to 9 PM.

  1. Uly, this EV substantially undercuts the Nissan Leaf in price.
If the EV bill subsequently becomes the EV law, then prices will become much lower (fully hoping here).

  2. Going back to this article, the EADO is also more affordable and bigger in size than the Chery Arrizo EV.
However, Chery Ph offers a better warranty package than Changan Ph.
