Ford Philippines Delivers Strong Q1 Sales, Confirms Arrival Of Next-Generation Ranger, Everest This Year

Ford Philippines delivered robust sales in the first quarter of the year, with sales reaching 4,634 units led by the Ford Ranger and Ford Territory.

On a monthly performance, retail sales reached 1,931 units in March, or a 13 percent increase from March of last year. Leading the month’s sales is the Ford Territory, which posted its best-ever retail sales in March with 904 units, or a 51 percent increase from a year ago.

With its strong retail performance in the previous quarter and in the previous month, the Ford Territory remained the leader in the small SUV segment, with an average quarterly market share of 54 percent and a 63 percent market share in March.

“We are off to a great start this year as we see the growing popularity of our Ford vehicle lineup among our customers, particularly the Ford Territory which continues to be one of the best-selling SUVs in the market today,” says Mike Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines. “With the easing of travel restrictions and increased demand for safe mobility, we are optimistic that we will maintain the momentum in the next quarter together with our Ford dealers nationwide.”

The Ford Territory also reached its 10,000th customer milestone at the end of the first quarter, with sales reaching 10,758 units since its launch in August 2020. Ford’s small SUV first achieved its 5,000th sales milestone in June last year, then celebrated its 8,000th sales milestone in November.

“Our 10,000th Ford Territory sales milestone is truly an outstanding feat and would not be possible without the immense support from all Ford Territory owners. We are very excited for what’s to come for the Ford Territory in the country, and we look forward to seeing more Filipino customers own the moment with the Ford Territory.”

Ford Philippines is set to sustain its momentum with the launches of the next-generation Ford Ranger and next-generation Ford Everest in the second half of the year, alongside new customer service innovations that will enhance the ownership experience.

  1. Almost 11,000 total sales of the Ford Territory!
The Territory (compact SUV) is simply more popular among Filipinos than the Coolray (subcompact SUV/crossover, sorry for stating this Geely Ph).
Sorry Uly, you prefer the Coolray over the Territory, but more Filipinos think otherwise..

    1. Best-selling doesn't mean best.

Besides, to clarify the small SUV segment:

I'm still going to stick my head out and say that I don't like the Territory. As someone who's driven his fair share of Fords, it doesn't feel like one. It's a cash grab...and it seems it's a move that's pretty much resonated with Filipino buyers.

    2. Rebadged Chinese Car. Fix or Repair Daily. I have seen in social media Ford Territory stalling after they brought home their vehicle from the Casa.

    3. I personally witnessed a Current Gen. Ford Everest stalling right in front of my parked car. It was able to move out of its parking space so I assumed it just stopped there for whatever reason, but no, it just stalled while in drive. I had to wait for it to be towed before I could leave my spot, along with another poor soul parked next to me. Good thing all recently sold Ford vehicles in the country come with complimentary 3 Years ERA, they really, REALLY need it.

  2. But Territory is the most overrated small SUV in the PH Market because of more favorable reviews. It seems Toyota Raize will beat Coolray and Territory on the Price Point, Reliability and it's badge tbh...

    1. Toyota Raize is known for its underpowered engine,CVT transmission that is so fragile that it overheats easily and mediocre interior build quality that's why its not selling that well..It competes with the Chery Tiggo 2 Pro,Kia Stonic and
Changan CS35 Plus and not with the bigger Coolray and Territory

    2. Hmmm... It seems you don't like the Raize huh? if that is mediocre, why the Raize is the best selling small suv in Indonesia?

    3. The Toyota Raize is NOT underpowered. Have you test driven one? I've tested both engine variants with a full load of people and both still had some pep to them, more so with the Turbo variant. Yes, the interior feels cheap, even the exterior feels cheap with body panels only painted on the outside. Heck, some units are even being delivered to customers with imperfect paint finishes (Toyota PH and ADM needs to up its QC a bit). The ride gets noticeably lower once the car's fully laden so ground clearance is a bit suspect (suspension's too softly sprung). NVH is also not that great, but it's decent for its price point.

I'm not getting one since it's too bare for my taste, even at the TOTL level, but I will give the Toyota Raize its due. For a car you can get for as low as 750K, it's decently packaged for what it really is, a very capable people mover.

It also gets plus points in my book for being a JDM model, just imagine the aftermarket potential of this cheap car.

    4. Perils of a rebadged Daihatsu. Raize is DNGA and not TNGA. Toyota made a 3rd world platform for 3rd world countries.

    5. Daihatsu is a JDM brand and uses the same DNGA platform in that market. DNGA is intended for kei cars and A-segment cars, while TNGA is intended for B-segment cars and up. In fact, the Daihatsu Rocky/Toyota Raize is considered an A-segment vehicle, not a B-segment/subcompact. Platform-wise, it competes directly with the likes of the Suzuki S-Presso.

I wouldn't call DNGA a third world platform since DNGA cars have a very significant presence in a first world country, but yeah, DNGA is a value meal compared to TNGA's full course meal.

  3. I guess many Filipino car buyers don't watch or listen to auto journalists, or read articles written by them.
Or it's simply a matter of personal preference.

  4. And with that, they silently killed EcoSport, Transit and Expedition.

Nice for a company with cars that stays longer in repair shops than on roads, and casas gouging you exorbitant amounts of money for afterservice.

  5. Generally if compared to jap brands ford is less reliable, but f compared to chinese brands its more reliable. Am pretty sure territory is more reliable than the current mg hs.

    1. I would normally agree with you as my family loves ford. Very good cars but a bit less reliable vs the jap brands. But the territory is a rebadged chinese car if im not mistaken. I was told that even the light switches are not the regular circular knobs near the left AC vent

    2. Yeah, the Territory is just a rebadged Yusheng. I believe the donor vehicle has already been phased out in China maybe just to better establish the legitimacy of this fake Ford.

  6. Of course territory is rebadge, but am pretty sure trtory is more reliable than other chinese brand, spcly vis a vis mg hs

However, I also noticed that there are many disrespectful comments directed against others. Not sure how those comments are being handled.
