Its official Philippine launch is still a month away, but Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has just released the full specs of its much-awaited 2023 Xpander MPV.
Already posted on its official website, the refreshed Xpander comes in three variants for the 2023 model year: the GLX MT, GLX AT, and GLS AT. All variants carry the updated front grille and bumper design, T-shaped headlights, T-shaped taillights, and two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels. All variants also get a 7-inch touchscreen display audio system with a rear camera too. Separating the top-of-the-line GLS, it gets LED DRLs and a new dashboard design with soft-padded material which Mitsubishi calls, “Horizontal Axis.”
For 2023, all Xpander MPVs come with a carryover powertrain. This means a 1.5-liter (4A91) paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Maximum output is rated at 104.5 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, while maximum torque is at 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Nonetheless, it does have an improved suspension system with a more rigid mounting point for the front strut and increased cylinder size of the rear shock absorber. Together with high-performance valves, it should equate to a flatter handling and improved ride.
In terms of safety, all variants benefit from dual SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, while the GLS adds an electronic parking brake with auto hold as well as Mitsubishi’s Active Stability Control (ASC) + Traction Control (TCL) system.
As for pricing, MMPC is offering the 2023 Xpander with a hefty introductory discount until April 30, 2022. This represents P 72,000 to P 82,000 worth of savings. This brings down the prices of the Xpander to:
