Ahead of its official global reveal, Kia showed off the first official images of the refreshed 2023 Seltos compact crossover.
The 2023 Seltos gets a heavily revised front fascia that’s clearly inspired by the all-new Sportage. The upright and boxy character has been retained, but the grille, lighting elements, and of course, Kia’s updated logo give it a more unique look. The changes are even more drastic at the back where the taillights are now made to run the entire length of the rear while the lower bumper now sports a more aggressive overfender. New designs for its alloy wheels complete the changes.
Inside, the Seltos receives a significant upgrade including the addition of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. A floating bezel now integrates it to an equally large 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Towards the center, Kia ditched the traditional gear selector for a rotary dial, confirming the arrival of shift-by-wire tech.
So far, Kia has kept mum on the 2023 Seltos’s engines, but it’s highly likely to keep the current crop of normally-aspirated 2.0-liter and turbocharged 1.6-liter engines. The 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle MPI engine is good for 149 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque mated to a CVT gearbox, while the 1.6-liter makes 175 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed dual clutch.
It’s highly likely that the 2023 Seltos will make its global appearance in July just in time for the Busan Motor Show.
A lot better looking than the current one that looks like it has a double chin.
