This may be a bit hard to believe, but eight months after its global unveil in Indonesia, it’s only now that the all-new, second-generation Honda BR-V has made its way to other ASEAN markets such as Thailand.
In what could be a clearer picture of what the Philippines stands to get, the all-new BR-V in Thailand is available in just two variants—the E and EL (likely be called S and V for the Philippines). Prices start at 930,000 Baht (P 1.4 million) to 980,000 Baht (P 1.48 million), which makes it pricey, but take note that Honda SENSING comes as standard. It also comes with LaneWatch, a rearview camera, and a minimum of four airbags (the EL gets six).
Also standard across the BR-V range is a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine (same as the current-generation City and City Hatchback) that makes 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The sole transmission option is a CVT.
Equipment-wise, the base BR-V in Thailand gets smaller wheels (16-inchers), automatic LED headlights, a two-tone black/gray interior, automatic climate control, a push-start system, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Meanwhile, the top-trim BR-V adds bigger wheels (17-inchers), a high-gloss black front grille, LED front fog lamps, automatic folding side mirrors, an all-black interior scheme, and additional speakers.
It’s very likely that the all-new BR-V will make its Philippine market debut come September at the Philippine International Motor Show.
sheesh that costs a pretty penny, that would price it higher than the base HR-V, and I would expect the overall quality of the HR-V to be better since that's a more global model.

It's kinda hard to justify those prices. I'd rather buy the HR-V if that were the case hmm......I'm very curious on how Honda PH will launch the new BR-V :P
Poor Thai folks, their vehicle (especially the CBU one) always more expensive than some other Asean countries (well, except their pick up).

ReplyDeleteCorrect me Uly, but I am wary of the pricing for the TOTL, either it'll sit between Honda HR-V S variant and the Turbo HR-V, or it might sit dangerously close to both the Turbo HR-V and Civic Turbo RS.
Also, is this now imported from Indonesia? From what I remember, during the closure of Honda PH plant BR-V used to be assembled here with the City as CKD units, then it was imported from Thailand (read it from another site. Can you confirm this as correct?)
