Mercedes-Benz Philippines is adding a luxury-oriented trim to its 7-seater compact SUV, the GLB: the GLB 200 Progressive.
The GLB 200 Progressive gets high-gloss chrome accents including a simulated underguard upfront and a radiator grille with two single louvers. Like the GLB 200 AMG Line, it’s offered with standard LED headlights as well as 19-inch alloy wheels (the Progressive though, gets a 10-spoke design).
Inside, the GLB 200 Progressive gets a 7-inch digital instrument display, ARTICO man-made leather seats, a 10.25-inch MBUX multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a power tailgate (EASY-PACK).
Packing extensive safety and convenience features, it gets Active Brake Assist, Active Parking Assist with 12 ultrasonic sensors, and cruise control. This is on top of Attention Assist drowsiness detection, 7 SRS airbags, and ISOFIX child-seat mountings.
Like the GLB 200 AMG Line, the GLB 200 Progressive uses a turbocharged 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine with 163 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. It also comes with Dynamic Select. This system alters engine, transmission, chassis, and steering settings based on one of three settings: Comfort, Eco, or Sport.
The GLB 200 Progressive is priced at P 3,990,000, and will be available for viewing at Mercedes-Benz dealerships starting the end of this week.
Overpriced and underpowered. At this price point, you have better options: Lexus NX and BMW X3
