These Are The Confirmed Specs Of The Next-Gen Ranger Sport And Wildtrak Variants

Ahead of its Philippine launch this July 28, Ford didn’t just reveal the full range and prices of the all-new Ranger, but now, they’ve also revealed the key features of their next-generation truck (check out the specs of the XL, XLS, and XLT here).

Thanks to its online reservation portal now going online, we now have a better idea of how the Sport and Wildtrak trims are shaping up (the XL, XLS, and XLT aren’t available via online pre-orders).

Let’s start with the pricing. The Ranger Sport 4x2 AT is priced at P 1,474,000, while the Ranger Sport 4x4 AT is priced at P 1,594,000. The Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 AT, meanwhile, is priced at P 1,569,000, while the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 AT tops the range at P 1,875,000.

The Ranger Sport and Wildtrak 4x2 models all share the same engine and that’s the single-turbo 2.0-liter making 170 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 405 Nm of torque at 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. These are then mated to a 6-speed automatic with cruise control.

On the other hand, the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 comes with the bi-turbo 2.0-liter that makes 210 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 500 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,000 rpm. This is then mated to a 10-speed automatic with adaptive stop-and-go cruise control.

Both the Ranger Sport and Wildtrak variants ride on 255/65R18 tires, with alloy wheels only differing in design. However, the Wildtrak trims get upgraded brakes with ventilated disc brakes all around, while the Sport variants make do with a front vented disc and rear drum configuration. The Ranger Sport 4x4 and Wildtrak 4x4 have an electronic locking differential.

In terms of exterior features, the Ranger Sport models come with the Sport Design package. This gives it a mesh-type grille treatment along with a front overrider that acts a visual support element, and twin tow hooks. It also gets the following standard features:
  • LED headlights with auto on/off
  • C-clamp LED DRLs
  • LED taillights
  • LED fog lamps
  • Power folding, power adjustable exterior mirrors with side turn signal indicators

  • Tailgate protective capping
  • Bed liner
Moving up to the Ranger Wildtrak, unlocks a standard sports bar and roof rails, tailgate protective capping, a 12-volt and 230-volt socket in the pickup bed, and tailgate lift assist. The Wildtrak 4x4 is the only variant to get adaptive front lighting with automatic glare-free high beams (Matrix LED).

Inside, the Ranger Sport is well-kitted with the following standard features:
  • Wireless charger
  • 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat and 4-way manually adjustable front passenger seat
  • Leather/synthetic leather combination seating
  • 8-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Smart keyless entry with push-button start
  • Single-zone manual temperature control
  • 12-volt sockets x 2
  • Windshield-mounted USB port
  • Auto-dimming rear view mirror
Going for the Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 adds 8-way power adjustable driver’s and front passenger seats, dual zone climate control with rear AC vents, and a 230-volt inverter located in the rear center console. The Wildtrak 4x4 adds Ford’s Terrain Management System.

When it comes to audio and connectivity, the Ranger Sport variants have a 10-inch portrait style touchscreen fitted with SYNC 4A. It also comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as two USB ports and 6 speakers.

Meanwhile, the Ranger Wildtrak gets a larger touchscreen (12-inch) with voice-activated controls and two additional USB ports (total of four).

On the subject of safety, the Ranger Sport gets 6 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program with Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist & Roll Over Mitigation, Perimeter Alarm, Adjustable Speed Limiter, and Rear View Camera. The Ranger Sport 4x4 also gets Hill Descent Control.

The Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 adds an additional driver’s knee airbag (total of 7), an electronic parking brake, and rear parking sensors.

The Wildtrak 4x4 goes even further and adds front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. It’s also the only variant to get Ford’s Advanced Driver Assist Technology that bundles:

    2. Usually for new models especially all-new, manual transmissions come late. Idk with ford ph if they will totally ditch mt on mid high variants.

  3. With the Navara, some of the ADAS featured are available in the mid VE variants. I was surprised that Ford did not follow this trend

    1. Navara is an old pickup truck which is cheaper now to produce and sell..New Ford Everest is a newer product..Adding ADAS on all lower and mid variants would make it very hard to sell due to its expensive price.

  4. I think you forgot to mention the Second Row Air Conditioning on both Sport and Wildtrack Variant. Is it right?
