More and more insurance companies are understanding the merits of the Honda SENSING system and they’re partnering up with Honda Cars Philippines to offer preferential insurance rates for vehicles equipped with the system.
As a refresher, HCPI already has deals in place with AXA Philippines and BPI MS Insurance to offer better insurance rates to customers of Honda SENSING-equipped vehicles such as the Accord, Civic, HR-V, CR-V (selected variants), and Civic Type R. Now, Standard Insurance and Malayan Insurance have both joined the roster too.
Globally, Honda has found real-world benefits of its Honda SENSING technology, particularly the Forward Collision Warning and Collision Mitigation Braking System with Autonomous Energy Braking (AEB) system.
In a study conducted by the U.S.-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), found that it reduced damage to other vehicles and/or property insurance claims by nearly 11 percent. Meanwhile, injuries to people in other vehicles or others on the road insurance claim frequencies declined about 28 percent. Globally, advanced driver assist technologies such as Honda SENSING showed a 27 percent reduction in bodily injury insurance claims, and a 19 percent reduction in property insurance damage claims.
From August until December 31, 2022, vehicles purchased will continue to offer preferential rates as low as P 2,119 a month.
