Honda Cars Philippines is using the 8th Philippine International Motor Show to launch the sportiest variant of its HR-V crossover: the HR-V RS Turbo.
Set to join the HR-V V Turbo and HR-V S variants, the HR-V RS Turbo, for the Philippine market, is confirmed to be getting the same 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine found in the HR-V V Turbo. This means it’ll pack 177 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque mated to a CVT gearbox.
Although HCPI is yet to confirm the exact specifications of the HR-V RS Turbo, based on the teaser photo, it will have unique RS style bumpers, grille, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Also, the Philippine spec model doesn’t seem to have a black roof. It is likely to have the same clear-style LED taillight design found in other markets.
Given the Honda HR-V RS Turbo is meant to be the model’s top-of-the-line variant, expect it to gain more standard features including rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, and a power tailgate. Expect it also to gain an additional two airbags (for a total of six). This is on top of the standard Honda SENSING suite which is already standard across the HR-V range.
Joining the HR-V RS Turbo at HCPI’s stand is a decked-out City 1.5 CVT variant as well as a preview of “an all-new Honda model” which will likely be the all-new Honda BR-V.
The 8th Philippine International Motor Show happens on September 15 to 18, 2022 from 10 AM to 8 PM at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Tickets are available at the venue for P 200 each. First 1,000 ticket buyers will get a 50 percent discount every show day.
Most likely priced at 1.7 Million Pesos..
ReplyDeleteYup. Most likely same or close to Corolla Cross GR-S. I actually hoped they'd bring in the e:HEV for the RS variant. Alas, nope.
DeleteNo Red Bull RB16B on the booth despite being at GIIAS last August 😔
ReplyDeleteWaste of space..They're focused on the debut if the HR-V RS and New BR-V instead
DeleteThe BR-V is coming in PIMS as a preview. They're likely going to introduce it with Honda Connect hence the delays.
DeleteHow about an S variant turbo?
ReplyDeleteYeah it could be a best seller at 1.4m
DeleteIkr? Honda ph should consider releasing such variant! Not a fan of leather anyways and how sir uly said the fabric seats on S non turbo's way comfortable than the V turbo's leather. And of course, the cheaper price. :)
DeleteThat resonator cum catalytic converter sticks out like a sour thumb at any angle you look at the car. honda could have done a better job at this.
