Honda Cars Philippines is adding the RS or Road Sailing variant to its HR-V line. As typical of the RS line, it comes decked in sportier garb while also boasting additional comfort and safety features.
Exterior-wise, the HR-V RS features a sporty chrome grille with an RS emblem and a red “Amp Up” logo on the lower bumper. It also gets bigger 18-inch alloy wheels in an RS Gray design, and for the first-time LED sequential turn signal indicators. At the back, it gets a smoked LED light bar and a gloss-black chrome bumper. On the side, it gets a side sill garnish accented in chrome and gloss black.
On the inside, the HR-V RS has sports pedals as well as red stitching on its leather steering wheel, shift knob, and seats. It also adds a Variable Gear Ratio system for its steering rack for enhanced steering responsiveness and agility. Comfort and convenience features are also up with an 8-way powered driver’s seat, front auto up/down power windows, dual zone climate control, and rain-sensing wipers.
For safety, the HR-V RS adds two additional airbags (a total of six) and Honda’s LaneWatch Camera. This is on top of other safety features found in other HR-V variants including Honda SENSING whose front-facing, wide-view camera system gives it advanced safety and driver assist functionalities such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), and Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN)
Under the hood, the HR-V RS boasts of 177 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque from its turbocharged 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine. This engine comes paired with a CVT gearbox with three driving modes: ECON, Normal, and Sport.
The all-new Honda HR-V RS comes in three colors: Ignite Red Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Premium Opal White Silver Pearl. It’s priced at P 1,739,000.
Too expensive for a subcompact CUV. And still no BSM, RCTA or rear autonomous braking nor 360° camera. Might as well get the base model CR-V at this level.
