Volkswagen PH Says The T-Cross Can Be Enjoyed In More Than One Way

Volkswagen Philippines says its T-Cross compact crossover lives up to its billing of being “More Than One Thing.” The campaign is meant to highlight the multifaceted qualities of the T-Cross, qualities which match its owners’ equally dynamic lifestyle.

The T-Cross, which was launched in the Philippines in 2021, is produced in four key facilities worldwide–Brazil, China, Germany and India. It was launched globally and simultaneously in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Sao Paulo in Brazil, and Shanghai in China in 2018. Thus, each T-Cross vehicle coming out of any of the production facilities bears the same level of engineering and global standards of craftsmanship the Volkswagen brand has been known for.

More notably, the T-Cross has been awarded multiple times in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, and of course, its home market of Germany.

The T-Cross stays true to the German automaker’s distinctive build and design qualities. The T-Cross—like all other Volkswagen models—benefits from German engineering across the entire production process, in all its global facilities. This is evident in every model’s fit and finish from laser welded roofing to forged steel door hinges to the use of high-strength body panels.

Though the classic and signature Volkswagen look is still evident in the T-Cross, its “cool” factor grabs the attention of the younger generation of drivers with hip and trendy interior and exterior designs and colors bearing quirky names such as Tribu Yellow, Syringa Violet, Romance Red, Chinchilla Gray, and Polar White. The SE variant, in fact, even matches interior trims with its exterior color. For that more “in control” feel in the driver’s seat, the gauges and infotainment system are easy to read with the new Active Info Display, while the large 9.2-inch infotainment monitor maximizes the Wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The 2022 T-Cross features the efficient 1.5-liter Multi Point Injection (MPI) gasoline engine paired with a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission which—operating under Volkswagen’s BlueMotion technology. The Euro 6 compliant powerplant optimizes fuel economy and minimizes emissions without sacrificing power. The T-Cross’ 113 horsepower of maximum power and 145 Nm of maximum torque provides more than sufficient pull. Cruise control also makes long drives extra-relaxed and comfortable, while the Sport Mode is always available to provide an extra power boost when desired.

The cabin also presents practical spaciousness for its passengers and their luggage. With the folded rear seat bench, an already cavernous 329 liters of luggage compartment expands up to 1,319 liters—more than enough for an exciting road trip.

To keep everyone safe on the road, the vehicle’s Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP) is always ready to help stay in control of the vehicle even when the way gets twisty, or when unforeseen obstructions on the road suddenly come up. Other safety features of the T-Cross also came in handy for various driving conditions, such as the Hill Hold Control, Anti-Slip Regulation, Rear Parking Distance Control, and the rear camera (exclusive to the SE variant). Also exclusive to the T-Cross SE variant are features like LED headlights, daytime running lights, and front fog lamp with corner light function, apart from the standard rear foglamp. The SE variant also comes with a panoramic sunroof.

Finally, the model’s aftersales support is founded on the campaign “Keep your Volkswagen running like a Volkswagen,” which offers competitive aftersales services on all fronts, such as limiting periodic maintenance services (PMS) to just once a year which leads to 20 percent less cost of ownership compared to its competitors, 100,000-kilometer or 3-year warranty coverage program (whichever comes first), 3-month stock on parts, enhancements in service quality via Express Service, free 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA), and ensuring that only technicians mentored by globally certified trainers, and backed by on-site and virtual diagnostic technical support, look after your T-Cross.

    1. Fuel pump Recall? After reading that link i can't see any recall. Just the cost to the consumer to repair the injector Pumps.

  2. AC should just bring in already the Tiguan, Tharu (Taos), and Terramont if they want to get more market share. Then a halo SUV like the ID.4 or ID.5. So much for Ayala bringing in a new era for VW and Kia, more like we're ok being niche and cheap and overpriced for what it is.

    1. But look how they did at Volkswagen, neglected and mismanaged brand full of outdated and defected models. Better for Volkswagen Philippines to change distributor and management or if things getting worse VW should exit the PH market and launch Skoda and Seat instead but not with that crappy Estrella who is really a fall guy.

    2. As if Volkswagen Philippines would get a lot of market share selling outdated expensive vehicles like the Teramont and Tiguan..Volkswagen Philippines already tried selling multiple versions of Tiguan and it didn't sell well..Teramont won't benefit from tax cuts so no point bringing an outdated looking SUV here..Volkswagen Philippines won't bring in the EVs yet due to pricing issues.

    3. How can the Teramont be outdated? The platform was launched in China around 2017? The facelift was released last year. Teramont is the Atlas / Atlas Cross in NA. The Tiguan that VW Philippines was selling previously was indeed outdated but the one in China is the 2nd generation. Taos(Tharu) was launched in NA last year.

Why won't the AFTA benefit these two SUVs? Isn't that the reason for the whole pivot of AC to import from VW-Saic only?

As for the Halo SUV ID.4/ID.5- it's called halo for a reason. That didn't stop Hyundai Ioniq, Kia EV6, Nissan leaf, etc. to launch their EV cars here.

    4. Teramont ain't coming anymore due to pricing issues..lt'll fail just like the Subaru Evoltis..People would rather buy a CX-9 or Palisade instead.
Volkswagen Philippines is waiting for the tax cuts for EV vehicles before bringing in the I.D vehicles made in China to the local market

  3. Here comes the unrealistic demands of so-called product planning experts 🤣 As if Volkswagen and Ayala Group would listen that easily.🤣

    1. i'm not even a product planner much more an expert. It's wishful thinking from a consumer. Wouldn't more competition / more choices be better for the consumer?

It's not even unrealistic - you're pushing Chinese cars, why not get more VW models from China? they're just getting the santana's and lamandos and T-Cross.

They've already told the public in various press releases that they'll bring in new models - either the Taos or Teramont. So what unrealistic and demanding about it when that's the direction of AC motors already?

    2. Volkswagen Philippines is waiting for the updated version of the Tharu which will be available later this year in China.

    3. It just comes down to having basic respect for the local consumer. Previously VW PH brought in dieselgate rejects -- the Jetta and Golf Sportwagens that are identifiable with their amber side markers, miles per hour speedometers, and rear brake lights-as-turn signals. Then they fully shifted to importing outdated China market cars. Chinese cars by themselves are not a problem --- outdated chinese cars are. It's similar to the mistake Tata PH made when their lineup was outdated even by Indian standards. Well at least the T-cross is the one decent model VW PH has.

    4. Yeah, thats what also AC motors did to maxus - selling here outdated maxus models!
