Before talking product details (we’ve covered everything you need to know already, after all), it’s time to jump to the much-awaited part: the prices. Here they are:

• Stargazer 1.5 GLS IVT – P 1,128,000
• Stargazer 1.5 GLS Premium IVT – P 1,218,000

Take note that these prices are officially introductory retail prices so they’re subject to an increase. Plus, they also don’t include the freight and other charges associated with provincial dealers. That said, the price does include a 5-year / 200,000-kilometer warranty.

Oh, and unlike other brands, Hyundai has taken the bold step of offering every color across all variants: Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Silver Metallic, Dragon Red Pearl, and Midnight Black Pearl. And no, the pearlescent colors don’t command a hefty premium over the metallic ones, so great news there.

Now going to the product details, the Stargazer comes standard with a 1.5-liter Smartstream G engine producing 115 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque which puts it above average in its segment. Plus, the engine’s mated to Hyundai’s unique IVT or Intelligent Variable Transmission which brings together the best characteristics of a CVT (fuel economy) and a torque converter automatic (built-in step logic). It also has available selectable drive modes with Eco, Smart, Comfort, and Sport.

The 2023 Stargazer puts interior flexibility front-and-center with its 31 storage spaces incorporated onto the dashboard, center console, seats, and door trims. These include the ledge beneath the front air vents for essential small items, a transferrable cup holder guide at the center for varying beverage container sizes, front row seatback table and pockets for snacks, booklets or documents, and the luggage board that can be opened to better organize trunk items.

More than just space, it has wireless phone projection for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a wireless device charger. For those who prefer to charge on the go, there are up to five other USB Type A and USB Type C chargers scattered throughout the cabin.

In terms of safety, the Stargazer’s body and chassis is primarily made of high-strength steel for improved torsional stiffness and rigidity. On top of this are up to 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors with camera, and even Hyundai StartSense—the brand’s advanced driver assist system that incorporates forward collision assist, lane keeping assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic alert, safe exit warning, driver attention warning, and high beam assist.
