Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has officially unveiled the new Mitsubishi Xpander Cross. The 2023 Xpander Cross is the latest iteration of Mitsubishi’s re-defining MPV-SUV crossover that fuses functionality and capability into one aggressive-looking package.
The new Xpander Cross heightens its sense of adventure with its stronger SUV-like design. The black wheel arch moldings, door garnishes, and side sills give it a taller stance, while the re-designed bumpers, complete with a guard bar motif give it a more macho look. Roof rails also come as standard.
Like the refreshed Xpander, the 2023 Xpander Cross sports the unique T-shaped LED headlights with daytime running lights (DRL) and LED fog lamps. The same T-shaped design is found in the rear taillights. The re-design is capped off by the newly-designed 17-inch alloy wheels and refreshed tailgate garnish.
Also making its debut on the new Xpander Cross is the “Horizontal Axis” dashboard motif that visually widens the cabin, while also improving the placement of the controls. Across the dashboard itself is soft padded materials with real stitching in a new Navy Blue shade.
The driver is treated to a new 4-spoke leather steering wheel reminiscent of the Montero Sport. Ergonomically, the tilt/telescopic adjustment allows it to fit a wider variety of drivers while the steering wheel return control is now faster for better maneuverability at low speeds. In front of the steering wheel is a new 8-inch LCD digital meter cluster that allows drivers to access a multitude of information.
Meanwhile, the center console is fitted with a digital control system for the AC, while the 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA-3) system allows for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Navy Blue synthetic leather seats also offer Heat Guard technology which quickly dissipates heat allowing the 7-seater SUV to cool the cabin faster.
Highlighting its versatility, the Xpander Cross continues to have a spacious interior room and adaptive seating arrangements. For example, the front center armrest can hold a tissue back on the back of its lid and four 600-ml-sized bottles in the main space. Front row and luggage under trays, multi-function seat-back pockets and third row power outlets are present for additional storage and convenience. The second-row center arm rest features cup holders, while two USB ports—one Type A and one Type C—allow passengers to charge their devices on the go. The cargo hold itself is able to fit four 4-gallon water bottles or a stroller without having to fold the third-row seats.
Continuing to power the 2023 Xpander Cross is the tried-and-tested 1.5-liter 4A91 MIVEC 4-cylinder engine. It makes 104 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. Mated to a 4-speed torque converter automatic with cruise control, it provides a balance between responsiveness and fuel economy.
And while the powertrain remains unchanged from before, the new Xpander Cross benefits from a wealth of suspension upgrades. It starts with enlarged rear shock absorbers for a more pliant and stable ride. Also new is Active Yaw Control or AYC. AYC allows the selective application of braking force in order to improve its overall handling sharpness and stability. Other standard features include Active Stability Control (ASC), Hill Start Assist (HAS), and Traction Control (TCL). An electronic parking brake with auto hold reduces driver fatigue during stop-and-go traffic, while a reverse camera helps provide visibility when backing up.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Cross is available in four color options: Sunrise Metallic (2-Tone), Quartz White Pearl (2-Tone), Graphite Gray Metallic, and Blade Silver Metallic. It is priced at:

DeleteXpander has the features of a car from the 2010s.
ReplyDeleteNo active safety, no side or curtain airbags, uses a decades old 4AT. Lacking the 360 camera which Indonesia has.
Veloz, Stargazer, BR-V all have 6 airbags and active safety for a similar price.
Seems the 4AT is better than that CVT in terms of future maintenance cost

ReplyDeleteAvoid all these overpriced, underpowered 1.5L gas engined AUVs and just get an Innova diesel if you really need 7 seats, or better yet get a proper van if you can afford it, your huge family would thank you for it. Hurry before the Innova becomes an overpriced 7-seater FWD RAV2 with an unnecessary & expensive hybrid system.
