Just a little over two years since the brand’s launch in late 2019, Chery Auto Philippines managed to close 2022 on a triumphant note.
One of the fastest growing automotive brands hit the ground running in 2022 as it held its very first Dealer Appreciation Ceremony in February in a virtual live telecast. Chery Alabang won Dealer of the Year in its inaugural GRIT Awards.
Two months later in April, Chery made a splash at the first physical Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) since the pandemic. As a first-time participant to MIAS, they brought the theme of “Innovation That Inspires” to their pavilion. MIAS also saw the launch of Chery’s Tiggo 8 Pro line-up comprised of the Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T and the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, both of which would soon become the brand’s most sought-after models. Chery also had a preview of the Tiggo 5x Pro.
Following the launch of Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV in April, Chery had a ride-and-drive event in May and June for the two new SUVs with media partners and content creators in a 2-leg “Conquering the Summit” Media Drive up and down Mt. Samat.
Further sustaining its drive program for the first half of the year, Chery held its first-ever Club Drive to Tagaytay Highlands in June for all Tiggo owners in an effort to strengthen its relationship with its customers.
After holding five big events in the first two quarters of the year, Chery’s next major event was in the very next quarter, with the brand’s debut at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Their participation at the show was the culmination of their acceptance in the largest automotive industry group, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines or CAMPI. At PIMS, they unveiled the Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T.
In October, Chery showcased its Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV at the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit organized by Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP).
November saw another Chery Tiggo Club Drive, this time to celebrate the brand’s 3rd anniversary in the Philippines. Owners of all Tiggo models and variants joined the fun drive to Ayala Greenfield Golf & Leisure Club.
December saw yet another best-ever result for Chery, this time in the field of sports. The Chery Tiggo Crossovers women’s professional volleyball team was able to successfully land a 4th place overall finish after the team’s rebuilding at the recently concluded Philippine Volleyball League 2022 (PVL 2022). The team was actually just a win away from a breakthrough 3rd place podium finish—an achievement the team has set its sights firmly on in the next season.
December also saw the wrap-up of the Chery World of Luxury Mall Tour, which kicked off in July. The Tour showcased the luxurious Tiggo 8 Pro models at various malls in Metro Manila, offering bespoke and unique experiences to customers. The World of Luxury Tour offered a bespoke experience to booth visitors and test drive participants. In total, the World of Luxury Tour managed to tour 10 different premium malls in Metro Manila.
“Eleven major events and achievements in 2022 are just the tips of the iceberg in Chery Auto Philippines’ activities and efforts. The success and growth that the brand has achieved in just three years is spurring us to greater heights,” shared Chery Auto Philippines President Erroll Dueñas.
“But we’re far from accomplishing our goals. We have a whole roster of new models and programs to roll out after the New Year. Expect even more and bigger surprises from Chery in 2023!” exclaimed an enthusiastic Dueñas.
What is Chery Ph's total number of sales for 2022 (combined sales before and after joining CAMPI)?
