Hyundai’s flagship SUV, the Palisade, makes its return to the Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) website carrying a P 3.780-million price tag.
Available as an indent order-only model, the full-sized 7-seater SUV—meant to compete against the Mazda CX-9 and Ford Explorer—comes with a bolder look, expressed by Hyundai’s parametric shield design. The wider grille also pushes the forward lighting to the edges, where multi-piece LEDs now frame the fascia.
For the Philippine market, 20-inch wheels are standard and it comes in five colors: Abyss Black, Moonlight Blue Pearl, Creamy White Pearl, Graphite Gray Metallic, and Sierra Burgundy Pearl.
Being an indent order model, customers can also choose between the standard black-colored seats, or opt for the classier Burgundy Color package. Either way, 7 seats are standard with second row Captain’s Seats. Other features include ventilated and heated seats for the first two rows, a digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch center display with a 12-speaker Infinity sound system, fully automatic climate control across, and a power tailgate.
The front occupants, meanwhile, are treated to a new seat design—incorporating know-how learned from Hyundai’s upscale Genesis brand, with 8-way power adjust and two-seat memory, a more powerful wireless device charger, and USB Type A and C charging ports.
Powering the 2023 Palisade is Hyundai’s tried-and-tested 2.2-liter common rail direct injected diesel engine. This powerplant makes 193 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm. This is then connected to an 8-speed automatic driving all four wheels via Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel drive system with Multi-Terrain Control.
Safety-wise, it comes with 6 SRS airbags, blind spot monitoring, safe exit assist, park distance warning, and a 360-degree camera.
Again, the 2023 Palisade is priced at P 3.780-million and comes inclusive with a 5-year / 200,000-kilometer warranty. Firm orders will require a 3-month lead time.
