In celebration of 100,000 Strada pickup trucks sold in the Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has unveiled the Strada GLS S-Limited. Standing for “Street Limited,” this limited edition is rare; with just 75 units available nationwide.
Based on the Strada GLS, the GLS S-Limited comes with red accents on the front bumper, step board, and rear bumper. At the rear, the rear bumper is now finished in high-gloss black and a rear spoiler integrated into the tailgate. Of course, the biggest draw is the unique “01 Design” decal set on a two-tone silver and red decal racing stripe.
Inside, the Strada GLS S-Limited comes with a leather wrapped leather steering wheel with red stitches. The same red stiches are also found on the black leather seats, shift knob, and the leather handbrake lever.
Powering the Strada GLS S-Limited is the tried-and-tested 2.4-liter diesel MIVEC engine. Turbocharged and intercooled, it delivers a maximum torque of 430 Nm at 2,500 rpm and 181 horsepower at 3,500 rpm.
For safety and surefootedness, the GLS S-Limited, like the updated GLS, comes with a suite of safety technology such as Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC) – to help maintain control in slippery conditions or rapid steering maneuvers; Hill Start Assist (HSA) – to prevent rolling back on very steep inclines even when the brake pedal is not thoroughly stepped on; Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) – to detect and counter trailers being towed from swaying avoiding potential hazards; and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) along with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) – to maximize power and provide more steering control under hard braking situations.
“We are very excited to achieve yet another milestone for Mitsubishi Motors in the Philippines. This one, like the S-limited, is a special one. This is a milestone that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our loyal customers. Since offering the Mitsubishi Pick-up 32 years ago, there have been more than 100,000 customers who have appreciated the Strada.
Having been a brand that’s dedicated to listen and deliver to the needs of Filipinos, we are more than grateful for the support and for keeping Mitsubishi Motors part of their lives. Modern, tough, reliable, like this capable Pick-up, is what the brand stands for,” Said Mr. Takeshi Hara, MMPC’s President and CEO.
The Mitsubishi Strada GLS S-Limited is priced at P 1.496-million and comes in one color: White Diamond. It is now available at all 69 authorized Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide.
