Nissan X-Trail, Ford Ranger Among Finalists For 2023 Women's World Car Of The Year

The Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) jury announces the winners in each of this year’s six categories. These vehicles represent excellence in their segments based on safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment, and value for money.

This is the thirteenth edition of the awards presented by WWCOTY, a team of 63 women motoring journalists from 45 countries on five continents. It is the only all-female jury in the automotive industry.

The all-new Nissan X-Trail (pictured above) was selected as Large SUV at WWCOTY. Jurors noted its efficiency in difficult terrain, citing the advantage of its e-Power technology.

Other finalists are:
  • Urban Model – Kia Niro
  • Family SUV – Jeep Avenger
  • Large Car – Citroen C5 X
  • Large SUV – Nissan X-Trail
  • Performance Car – Audi RS3
  • 4x4 – Ford Ranger
The jurors’ work has been marked by an industry evolution towards more efficient and sustainable models. The challenge faced by the jurors this year was even greater than in previous years due to the excellent quality of all the candidates. No vote was given at random. They have all been subject to demanding driving tests, detailed analysis, and careful comparative assessments.

The WWCOTY gives a voice to women in the automotive world. The voting criteria are based on the same principles that guide any driver when choosing a car. The jurors do not select a ‘woman’s car’ because cars are not gender specific. Aspects such as safety, quality, price, design, ease of driving, benefits and environmental footprint, among others, are considered when casting the votes.

However, beyond choosing the best cars of the year, the WWCOTY’s goal is also to give visibility to women in the automotive world and to contribute to making women’s voices heard on all continents because mobility for a woman means access to many personal and professional possibilities.

These six winners now announced will go through to the final round of judging to determine the winner of WWCOTY’s top award. The Women’s World Car of the Year winner will be announced on International Women’s Day on March 8.

  1. This is exact why you don’t let your woman choose your vehicle.
