2024 Revuelto Is Lamborghini's First Super Sport V12-Powered Plug-In Hybrid

In time for their 60th anniversary, Lamborghini has unveiled the Revuelto, their first-ever V12 super sports hybrid plug-in and the direct replacement of the Aventador.

The Revuelto is powered by Lamborghini’s new L545 6.5-liter V12 engine. The lightest and most powerful unit the brand has produced, it puts out 825 horsepower and 725 Nm of torque. If that’s not enough, is has three electric motors—two at the front and one at the back—pushing the combined output to 1,015 horsepower. Moreover, it gives it electric four-wheel drive. Energy is stored in a 3.8-kWh lithium-ion battery that’s charged either by regenerative braking, directly by the engine, or via a household outlet.

A new transverse-mounted 8-speed dual clutch automatic is paired to the engine helping the Revuelto achieve a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed in excess of 350 km/h.

Wrapped around the engine is a new architecture made of an aeronautics-inspired design: the monofuselage. This means the entire monocoque is made of carbon fiber. The front-end, for example, is made of a special material of short carbon fibers soaked in resin for significant improvements to rigidity.

The design itself is instantly recognizable as a Lamborghini, and yet, it doesn’t copy or pay homage to any of their previous designs. The most eye-catching element here is the Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, while out at the back is a pair of high-mounted exhaust outlets and a massive carbon fiber diffuser. And in celebration of what could be one of the last V12s ever, the engine lid is shaped to expose a portion of the engine.

Even the tires of the Revuelto have been designed specifically by Bridgestone. The Potenza Sport tires—265/35R20 front, 345/30R21 back, or 265/30R21 front and 355/25R22 back—has run-flat technology. Custom winter tires are also available for customers who require them.

Lamborghini says they’ve managed to carve out a more spacious interior compared to the Aventador (26 mm more headroom, 84 mm more legroom), while mixing both a “physical” and “digital” experience. The driver has a 12.3-inch digital cockpit display, while the passenger has a 9.1-inch display. This model makes do without most physical controls. Instead, it introduces the “swipe” function allowing both occupants to move applications and information from the center display to the side displays like a smartphone.

The Revuelto sees Lamborghini implementing a complete ADAS system for the first time. The package includes active lane departure warning, lane change warning, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross traffic alert.

As always, personalization will be offered for the Revuelto with over 400 bodywork colors and 70 color options for the interior.
