Changan Auto PH Puts High Mileage Compact Crossover On Center Stage At MIAS

Instead of showing off some far off concept car or a brand-new vehicle, Changan Auto Philippines went against the grain and showcased a CS35 Plus that’s done 100,000 kilometers instead.

“We put up this exhibit to present to the public a ‘body of proof’ to the power and durability of the CS35 Plus,” said CMPI President and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo.

The aforementioned CS35 Plus and the remarkable full story behind it is on display at the Chinese automaker’s 100,000-kilometer zone.

As a backgrounder, Changan Auto Philippines ran a CS35 Plus as part of a battery of endurance tests. The then-brand new compact SUV was driven for seven months through various road and weather conditions from North to South of the Philippines until it racked up a total mileage of 100,000 kilometers or equivalent to five years of usage. That’s approximately 20,000 kilometers a year, or 54 kilometers a day.

“It’s like driving non-stop from Laoag City to Zamboanga City 29 and a half times,” added Ms. Agudo.

After the punishing drive and given the recommended PMS, the CS35 Plus emerged in peak roadworthy condition. Major components, like the engine, suspension, air conditioning system and electrical system, did not require replacing. Only the consumable PMS parts were changed--brake pads, oil, tires, wiper blades, and drive belt.

“Proof of durability strengthens the Changan customer promise of Lasting Safety,” affirmed Ms. Agudo. “The CS35 Plus’ outstanding performance confirms Changan’s commitment to constantly improve its automotive technology so that the quality and performance of every model that it rolls out keeps on getting better each time. This is tangible proof that Changan takes care of you and your car.”

Aside from the 100,000-kilometer CS35 Plus, the newly launched Uni-T and Uni-K lifestyle crossovers are also part of Changan Auto Philippines’ pavilion at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). MIAS runs from April 13 to 16 at the World Trade Center.
