The Wrangler’s iconic seven-slot grille gets a makeover with black textured slots, neutral gray metallic bezels, and a body-colored surround. Slimmer both visually and literally, the new grille improves drivetrain cooling while also allowing for fitment of a new factory-installed Warn winch. Other visual changes include a new “stealth” antenna integrated into the front windshield and 10 new wheel designs ranging from 17 to 20 inches (including factory-installed beadlock-capable wheels).

Inside, the 2024 Wrangler now has a soft-touch instrument panel thanks to it being wrapped in either fabric or polyurethane. A new 12.3-inch touchscreen—the most advanced and largest ever offered on the Wrangler—fits in the middle, powered by the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The larger screen necessitated new rectangular center vents.

The Android-based Uconnect 5 is up to five times faster than the previous infotainment system and offers features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a customizable home screen, capability of linking of up to two phones simultaneously via Bluetooth, and a dedicated “Trails Offroad” page. USB Type C ports replace the Type As at the front.

The Trail Rated Wrangler continues with its robust body-on-frame design, but customers can specify “full-float” axles on the Wrangler Rubicon. This setup, typically found in heavy-duty commercial trucks, separates the wheel hub assembly from the axle shaft via a spindle bolted to the axle tube. By using a full-float axle design, the weight of the vehicle is transferred to the axle tube rather than the axle shaft itself. Thus, the axle shaft is subjected only to torsional loads, with its sole function being to transmit power to the wheel hub. This stronger, more robust full-float construction enables a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds (2,268 kilograms) on the 2.0-liter and 3.6-liter automatic models.

Speaking of powertrains, the Wrangler offers the most diverse powertrain options in its segment starting with a turbocharged 2.0-liter with 270 horsepower and 400 Nm; a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 horsepower and 352 Nm; a 6.4-liter V8 with 470 horsepower and 637 Nm; and capped off with a 2.0-liter PHEV with 375 horsepower and 637 Nm. Depending on the specific engine, a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic is on offer.

Finally, addressing customer concerns regarding safety, the 2024 Wrangler now offers first- and second-row side curtain airbags as well as second-row outboard seatbelts fitted with pre-tensioners and load limiters. The body structure has also been improved for better side-impact crash test performance.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler will start to arrive in U.S. showrooms by late 2023, with other global markets, including the Philippines, confirmed to get them by next year.
