Bermaz Auto Philippines has announced the availability of the updated 2023 Mazda6 bringing with it a series of design, dynamic, and connectivity updates.
Building up from its 2019 update, the 2023 Mazda6 is now exclusively available as a wagon. Moreover, two new colors—Platinum Quartz and Rhodium White join the palette; the latter, of which, commands a P 22,400 price premium. Rhodium White is the newest Mazda Takuminuri color—a precise, high-quality finish that’s an integral part of the company’s Kodo Design. It is a pure white color inspired by Japanese aesthetics that find beauty in simplicity. The paint’s fine grain accentuates the shadows on the Mazda6’s surface, complimenting the underlying metallic texture.
Inside, the new Mazda6 gains luxurious Leganu synthetic suede that runs the length of the dashboard, while black full-grain nappa leather seats give the cabin a rich, dignified feel. It also gets wireless device charging and wireless Apple CarPlay for the 2023 update.
For 2023, the Mazda6 is now exclusively powered by the normally-aspirated 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G. Delivering a balance between performance and refinement, it delivers 190 PS at 6,000 rpm and 252 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The new Mazda6 features cylinder deactivation for improved fuel efficiency. Depending on engine load, it automatically switches between four- and two-cylinder modes at no cost to performance.
Further enhancing the “Zoom-Zoom” qualities of the Mazda6, updates to the electric power steering have been made to provide more tactile feedback at medium and high speeds.
The 2023 Mazda6 is now available at all authorized Mazda dealerships for P 2,100,000.

They removed the turbo variant? What a shame. The wagon is cool but having a turbo is better. I just wish they'd bring the wagon WITH the turbo engine
ReplyDeleteTurbo was never available with the wagon...my guess is that Mazda PH is simply hanging on to the segment as a niche player (hence why they chose the wagon).
DeleteI meant the 6 wagon with turbo like in other countries. I think Australia has those.
DeleteAh yeah. We never got a turbo wagon though. But agreed...a turbo wagon for around P 2.5 would have been amazing. Could have given the WRX Wagon a run for its money.
DeleteI believe by not having turbocharger can be an advantage in the long run. The engine is less stressed without a turbo thus can last longer.
ReplyDeleteWhile that is generally true, I believe maintenance is key with turbocharged cars. We have a 13 year old Subaru Legacy GT sedan and it didn't have any engine issues. The maintenance were followed diligently. I believe it won't have any issues even at the time it will eventually be sold when it reaches the 15 year mark.
DeleteThat and also avoid mods. Engine mods that add power will definitely reduce the reliability of a car in the long run.
DeleteUnless it's the dreaded Ecobomb engine lol
