Organizers of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) have reported that the annual motoring event has been a resounding success with a record number of visitors.
The four-day show which ran from April 13 to 16 garnered 149,000 visitors—a new record for the show. These figures are also up 24 percent from 2022’s count of about 120,000 visitors, and about 5 percent from their previous high of 142,000 in 2019.
“We attribute the show’s success to the support of the automotive industry in making our 18th edition of MIAS a wonderful success,” said Jill Ang, Managing Director of Worldbex Services International, organizer of MIAS.
Sixteen of the country’s biggest brands displayed during the four-day show where at least 20 cars made their Philippine debut. These included the next-generation Ford Territory; Subaru Forester GT Edition, refreshed Evoltis, and Outback; Peugeot 3008 and 5008 Active; GAC Emkoo; Mitsubishi Xpander Cross 60th Anniversary Edition; Great Wall Haval Jolion, Haval H6, and GWM Cannon; BYD Han EV; MG ZS Nite Edition; and the Jetour X70, X70 Plus, Dashing, and Ice Cream EV. The show also previewed several upcoming vehicles such as the Geely GX3 Pro; Peugeot e-2008; Chery Tiggo 5X HEV and Tiggo 7 Pro HEV; Hyundai Stargazer 6-Seater and Ioniq 6.
Worldbex Services International has confirmed that MIAS will return in 2024 in April.
