Winner of the 2023 Red Dot Design Award, the latest Transalp answers the need of riders who seek adventure on trails, or even just around of town. The styling strikes a balance between aero performance and wind protection at speed, while still providing a sense of lightness at low speed. The result is a design with “zero excess” with an optimized screen height and minimized width to reduce turbulence.

Built for long-distance riding as well, genuine comfort for two is a must. The seat height is low for its class, while the riding position itself is upright for natural comfort and leverage. The instruments comprise a 5-inch full-color, high-visibility TFT screen with four display types. The Honda Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS) allows riders to control their Bluetooth-enabled smartphone hands-free when using the Honda Road Sync App. This system permits access to several smartphone functions like calls, text messaging, music playback, and navigation.

Powering the XL750 Transalp is a 755-cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 8-valve SOHC parallel twin producing 67.5 kW (91.7 horsepower) at 9,500 rpm and 74.6 Nm at 7,250 rpm. This is mated to a 6-speed manual. The throttle-by-wire enables four selectable driving modes—Standard, Sport, Rain, Gravel, and User. These lets riders customize the bike’s characteristics controlling the engine power, engine brake, ABS, and torque control. Wheelie Control is also integrated into the torque control system as well.

The mainframe itself is lightweight, weighing just 18.3 kilograms. Rake and trail are set at 27 degrees and 111mm, with wheelbase of 1,560 mm and curb weight of 208 kilograms. Slow speed U-turns are easy thanks to a 42-degree steering angle and 2.6m minimum turning circle. Showa 43-mm forks offer 200 mm of travel, while ground clearance is at 210 mm. Compact, two-piston calipers work dual 310 mm ‘wave’ discs. The rear 256 mm ‘wave’ disc is operated by a single-piston caliper. 21/18-inch front rear (stainless steel) spoked wheels wear (tubed) 90/90-21 and 150/70-18 tires.

The Honda XL750 Transalp is available in two colors: Ross White and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic. It’s now available at all Honda Big Bike dealerships with a retail price of P 598,000.
