Hyundai successfully defended their class win at the 51st ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring. The Korean automaker snatched a class win and a second-place finish at one of the most demanding racing circuits in the world.
The driver combination of Mikel Azcona, Marc Basseng, and Manuel Lauck successfully defended their title from 2022, completing 147 laps, two more laps of the 20.83-kilometer track than a year ago enough for a 26th place finish overall.
Meanwhile, the Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) drivers of Taylor Hagler, Michael Lewis, Mason Filippi, and Harry Gottsacker took on one of their greatest challenges to successfully bring the No. 831 Elantra N TCR to a second-place finish (29th overall).
Elsewhere, the Hyundai i30 N also managed to finish at the top of the VT2 Front class (68th overall), lapping the circuit 123 times. It’s a dominant victory over class first runner-up, the MINI John Cooper Works.
With over 200,000 fans and 136 car entrants the 24h Nürburgring brought incredible learnings Hyundai. The Elantra N TCR started on the pole position and ran in the top-three in class for the duration of the 24-hour race.
In terms of overall results, the 51st ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring produced an upset with the Ferrari 296 GT3 of the Frikadelli Racing ending the 20-year run of victories by German manufacturers. In second place is the BMW M4 GT3, while in third is the Mercedes-AMG GT3.
