Lexus has dropped another teaser of the all-new GX body-on-frame SUV before its June 8 reveal. This is the second teaser it has dropped with the first one showing off its new headlight design.
The teaser, which shows the rear three-quarters angle, shows off the trademark full-width taillight bar. Interestingly, the flanks show an angular look with cleaner surfacing details without those extra plastic fender bulges found in the current GX. The window line is intriguing as well. It’s lower on the front doors, but rises around the middle of the rear doors to the shut line.
Overall, the all-new Lexus GX is reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Lexus says it’s designed with its “most adventurous customers” in mind, so why not at least look the part, right?
The all-new Lexus GX is expected to ride on the same platform as the Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX, the TNGA-F. It will also likely preview the all-new Land Cruiser Prado which is due for a full model change real soon as well.
Seems like the new Lexus GX will get a lot of styling cues from the Toyota Compact Cruiser EV Concept.
