The main highlight of this stunning new dashboard design is a 21-inch high-definition curved screen that floats above the dashboard. Positioned for ergonomics, it’s slightly curved towards the driver, while remaining perfectly accessible to the passenger on the right-hand side.

The screen groups together both the heads-up display and the infotainment screen. With the left-hand side showing the instrument cluster and all the information related to driving, while the right-hand side showing the climate control and infotainment.

Attached by a rear “foot” that is invisible from the passenger compartment, it’s meant to look like it’s floating above the dashboard. The effect is further accentuated by special LED mood lighting beneath the screen.

Meanwhile, the central part of the dashboard houses i-Toggles—fully customizable touch-sensitive buttons that can be programmed to provide access to 10 of the user's favorite functions, whether calling a favorite contact, starting navigation to a frequently used destination, tuning the radio to a favorite station, setting the ideal temperature for the air conditioning, etc.

The shifter also been moved to the dashboard, to the right of the steering wheel and just next to the car’s start/stop button. This enables designers to increase the space available for storage and wireless smartphone charging.

Capping off the new panoramic i-Cockpit is a compact steering wheel that’s been reworked for better feel and comfort. The central cushion is smaller and “isolated” from the steering wheel spokes to give a levitating effect similar to the panoramic screen on the dashboard.

The controls located on the new compact steering wheel are now “tactile clicking.” This means that they automatically detect the driver's fingers but are only activated when pressed, to avoid any wrong moves. The steering wheel also has two controls located behind it as well.

The all-new Peugeot 3008 will be revealed in September, but Peugeot says it will drop the traditional compact SUV look for something more akin to a “fastback SUV.”
