The Covenant Car Company, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines, has confirmed that the new-generation 2024 Trax is joining their line-up.
Shown as a teaser on their Facebook page (see the post below), the 2024 Trax gets a muscular and more powerful styling. The use of horizontal lines emphasizes the crossover’s width and now come with LED lighting elements. It also sits 101 mm lower than the previous Trax, giving it a more athletic profile.
The platform, Chevrolet says is all new and it stretches the Trax’s wheelbase by some 152 mm. This results in a much larger interior room—up 279 mm in length and 51 mm in width—compared to its predecessor. Rear legroom alone has grown some 76 mm, while cargo volume is up nearly 12 percent.
Based on the teaser, it will come in at least one variant: the Trax RS. This variant features a mesh-type grille with RS badging and 18-inch machine-faced wheels.
The enlarged interior volume is complemented by the new design center around giving a “lightweight feel” for a sense of airiness. The instrument panel cowl has been lowered and together with other Chevrolet “performance” design cues like the rounded air vents make it look sportier.
The tech-forward cabin features an 8-inch digital instrument cluster in front of the driver, while the infotainment screen will likely measure a sizeable 11-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay. Other feature will likely include an automatic climate control, and wireless charger.
As the Trax RS variant, leather seats with red accents and stainless steel front scuff plates are confirmed. This will likely be joined by a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
Chevrolet Philippines has not given any powertrain details yet, but globally, the Trax comes with a sole engine: a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder connected to a 6-speed automatic. Don’t let the small displacement fool you, this E-Turbo Prime engine produces 137 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 219 Nm at 2,500 rpm. Its right-sizing approach should equate to 12.7 km/L.
No word on the exact price of the 2024 Trax, but they have announced a July 4 launch date. No doubt more info will be revealed before then.
Saw this trailer on Facebook with the launch date of July 4. Wondering how this will bw positioned alongside the Tracker and Trailblazer.

DeleteNever saw the older model Trax on the road. I've seen more Tahoes. Maybe this new Trax can entice buyers?
