GAC Motor is capping off a strong start under its new distributor, Astara Philippines, with the announcement of actor Dingdong Dantes as first brand ambassador.
“We are honored to have Dingdong Dantes as our new brand ambassador for GAC Motor. His achievements in his field prove his dedication, high standards, and commitment to quality, which are the same values we stand for in GAC. We strongly believe he is the perfect fit to our brand persona,” explained Jun Cajayon, brand head of GAC Motor Philippines.
Cajayon says that the brand’s collaboration with Dingdong will enable GAC Motor to resonate with more customers as it drives towards a brand that is more accessible, yet aspirational among Filipinos.
Dantes, a motoring enthusiast himself, is thrilled to be the new brand ambassador of GAC Motor. He said, “Being part of the GAC Motor family means sharing the same values with a brand that is not afraid to push boundaries and strive for excellence. I am honored to be part of this growing family of forward-thinking innovators, dedicated to driving more Filipinos closer to the GAC brand experience.”
The announcement of Dingdong as brand ambassador caps off a record first quarter this 2023. So far, the brand has recorded a 244 percent increase in sales year-to-date. The surge in demand is led by its flagship SUV, the GS8. Its other best-sellers are the GS4 and the GN6.
“Our tremendous sales growth in the last five months are being driven by the terrific customer response to our latest vehicles, which offer the best value for money in the market today,” said Cajayon. “This growth momentum proves that more and more Filipinos are embracing the GAC MOTOR brand and appreciating the high-quality, reliability and fine craftsmanship of our vehicles.”
The company is also delivering on its commitment to open more dealer locations across the country, with 15 dealer locations fully-operational by July.
“Since January, we have been focused on further expanding our dealer network to ensure even greater convenience for both our existing and new customers. From six dealer locations in January, we are growing to 15 fully-operational dealerships by July, putting us right on track to achieving our target of 20 dealerships by year end,” added Cajayon.
The 15 dealerships are in Alabang, Bacoor, Batangas City, Butuan, Cainta, Davao, E. Rodriguez Ave., Iloilo, Lipa City, Makati, Manila Bay, Pampanga, Pasig, Quezon Avenue, and Tarlac. Two more locations – Bacolod and Cebu – are slated to open in the third quarter of this year.
Aside from the all-new GS8, GAC Motor also launched the EMPOW and EMKOO earlier this year. It will be joined shortly by the new-generation GS3 EMZOOM at the end of the month.
