Hyundai Motor Philippines has revealed the price and specs of its second battery electric vehicle, the Ioniq 6.
The “electric streamliner” will be available for reservations and bookings at Hyundai EV dealers (Hyundai Alabang, Hyundai Commonwealth, Hyundai Makati, Hyundai Pampanga, Hyundai Pasig) starting on June 26. It will come with a suggested retail price of P 3,798,000.
For the Philippine market, the Ioniq 6 will come in a single variant: the GLS 2WD Long Range. Equipped with standard 20-inch wheels, it will deliver a maximum range of 545 kilometers.
Contributing to its stellar cruising range is its single-curved aerodynamic profile and carefully created contours. In fact, its co-efficient of drag is an ultra-low 0.21.
Exterior-wise, it comes equipped with the Parametric Pixel LED headlights, a flat-type Hyundai logo, the aforementioned 20-inch wheels, and a Parametric Pixel high-mount stoplight. Inside, it has a Bridge-type Center console with integrated pixel LED lighting and a button-less slim door with ambient lighting.
For the exterior color they are: Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Gray Matte, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Digital Green Pearl and Ultimate Red Metallic. Whereas for the interior, the choice is between black or gray.
Underpinned by the E-GMP platform, the Ioniq 6 has an ultra-long wheelbase (2,950 mm) for its overall length (4,855 mm). This gives it remarkably high stability and predictive handling as well as offering the roomiest front-legroom of any Hyundai vehicle. The Integrated Drive Axle (IDA)—which combines wheel bearings with the driveshaft—reduces axle weight.
Speaking of power, the single-motor, rear-wheel driven system makes 229 horsepower and 350 Nm. The 77.4-kWh battery can be charged using both AC and DC charging methods. The 800-volt architecture can deliver 10 to 80 percent battery charge in just 18 minutes. It also has adjustable modes (EV Performance Tune-Up Mode) and Electric Active Sound Design or e-ASD for spaceship-like virtual driving sounds.
Among its list of awards, the Ioniq 6 has received the World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Electric Vehicle of the Year. It’s the second straight year Hyundai has managed to sweep the prestigious awards, with the Ioniq 5 doing so just a year earlier.
“There’s really more than what meets the eye with the Hyundai IONIQ 6. It’s ‘Beyond Electric’, providing owners a more tailored and immersive driving experience,” said Mr. Dong Wook Lee, HMPH President. “I hope you are excited as we are to be officially welcoming it to the local market. With our IONIQ line, we assure our Filipino customers not just a green solution to their mobility needs but also a worry-free and intelligent one that will fit their lifestyles.”

Will our units be made in Korea or Indonesia?
ReplyDeleteKorea.
DeleteDo you think it's priced just right or too expensive?
ReplyDeleteThat's a really fantastic range and highly covetable and all, but come to think of it, the tariff exemption doesn't seem to have the desired effect on showroom prices.
ReplyDeleteRealistically speaking, is it a good time to buy a BEV now?
ReplyDeleteBuy if you want to save fuel, maintenance costs, insurance and others for two cars, and sell two cars since it’s exempted from coding
