Mazda PH Confirms Arrival Of 2024 CX-90 By End-2023

Mazda Philippines has confirmed that the first-ever CX-90 will join the local line-up by the end of the year. It was confirmed at the media launch of the CX-60.

The first-ever three-row SUV riding on the Large Product Platform, the CX-90 features the same front-engine, rear-wheel-biased longitudinal powertrain layout that elevates driving performance. Engineers focused on optimizing rigidity throughout the entire body while thanks to Kinematic Posture Control (KPC), which first debuted on the MX-5, this 7- or 8-seater SUV offers enhanced levels of grip, balance, and control.

Mazda Philippines has confirmed that only one engine will be made available and the CX-90 comes with the e-Skyactiv-G 3.3-liter inline-6 engine. This has the highest horsepower and torque from a mass production gasoline engine developed by Mazda with 340 horsepower (345 PS) and 502 Nm of torque when using premium fuel. It’s also equipped with M-Hybrid Boost—a mild-hybrid system that allows an electric motor to power it directly at low speeds boosting fuel efficiency.

All CX-90 powertrains are paired with an all-new 8-speed automatic. Without a torque converter, the multi-plate clutch-equipped system (but not a dual clutch) achieves smooth and direct acceleration while upping efficiency.

Like other current Mazda models, the CX-90’s design uses an interplay of light and shadow. Chrome garnishes on the lower bumpers emphasize its width, while available 21-inch diamond cut wheels with a black metallic finish complement its powerful presence. It’s showcased in Mazda’s latest Takuminuri color—Artisan Red and Rhodium White.

The cabin emphasizes expansiveness through the positioning of the vents and chrome trim. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, it has a luxurious and comfortable feel across all three rows. From the front seats to the available captain's chairs, and into the third row, there are multiple materials, such as nappa leather, wood, and tone-on-tone fabrics that all come together harmoniously.

CX-90 also features larger displays, accompanied by physical buttons that complement the interior styling. New Mazda technologies, such as an available See-Through View monitor, are meant to assist in a variety of parking situations through the 12.3-inch center display.

As with all Mazda vehicles, the CX-90 seeks to maintain the same top safety recognition as Mazda's other products with many standard i-Activsense safety features, such as Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, and other new features that will help enhance the confident experience for all occupants.

The three-row CX-90 will not mean the discontinuation of the CX-9. More than anything, it will co-exist with the current flagship three-row SUV.
