Chery Auto Philippines sold an all-time high of 382 units in June, surpassing its previous highest monthly record of 323 units it had established only in May. While the total industry sales dipped by 5 percent last June, Chery bucked the trend and grew by 18 percent. Chery’s performance catapulted the brand to the 10th spot in the total sales ranking for the month of June.
Chery Auto PH’s June market performance was bannered by the strong sales of the Tiggo 5x with 247 units sold, enabling it to climb to a strong No.2 ranking with 26 percent market share in the subcompact SUV segment. Meantime, the shortage on Tiggo 7 Pro Luxury version was compensated by the initial deliveries of the Hybrid version. This allowed the Tiggo 7 Pro to sell a total of 76 units which represents a 4 percent growth compared to last May.
For the first half of the year, Chery sold a total of 1,668 units, representing an 8 percent growth year-on-year. This brought Chery Auto PH up to the 11th overall ranking with 0.8 percent market share. The year-on-year cumulative sales of the Tiggo 5x and Tiggo 8 Pro at 834 and 271 units, respectively contributed to Chery’s sales growth in the first 6 months of 2023.
“We are very pleased that more and more Filipinos are trusting the Chery brand. We are confident that this upward sales momentum will continue as we introduce the new Tiggo 5x Pro Comfort and Hybrid version this month,” UAAGI chairman Rommel Sytin said.
Accordingly, Chery Auto Philippines’ good sales continues to attract new dealer investors and they will be announcing new dealer outlets in key areas soon.

ReplyDeleteThe incoming Tiggo 5x Pro design looks dated even against the cheapass Daihatsu Yaris. Maybe its selling point is if they can pursue coding exemption for the Hybrid version.
