Mazda Actually Came Up With A Poem To Describe The First-Ever CX-90

Mazda does a lot of things their own way, and while that’s typically applicable to their products, you could now say the same thing when it comes to their marketing.

At the Philippine product presentation of the first-ever CX-90, Mazda opened with, of all things, a poem. Entitled, “The Voyage of Your Life,” it’s supposed to condense the entirety of the CX-90’s design and engineering philosophy in a couple of lines.

Here it is, if you’re curious:
The Voyage of Your Life

I travel my journey of life with my family and this car.

In this unforeseen time and age,
There are families who are taking a positive step in their life.
Even if time changes, family bond remains unchanged.

CX-90 will evolve as a good partner of such families.
Albeit its dominance, I can drive as intended and keep enjoying fun to drive.
The car enhances quality of my family time, makes me feel proud and inspires my passion.

Family voyager offered in this time and age,
I travel my journey of life with my family and this car.
When not waxing poetic, the CX-90 will serve as the brand’s new flagship three-row SUV. Underpinned by the Large Product Platform architecture (shared with the first-ever CX-60), the CX-90 will come with a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-6 with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It also uses a multi-clutch 8-speed automatic as well.

Like other current Mazda models, the CX-90’s design uses an interplay of light and shadow. Chrome garnishes on the lower bumpers emphasize its width, while available 21-inch diamond cut wheels with a black metallic finish complement its powerful presence. It’s showcased in Mazda’s latest Takuminuri color—Artisan Red and Rhodium White.

The three-row CX-90 will not mean the discontinuation of the CX-9. More than anything, it will co-exist with the current flagship three-row SUV.

So far, no pricing info has been revealed, but it’s understood that Mazda Philippines targeting to price it below P 4-million. It will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2023.

  2. Is the poem converted from Japanese to English?

  3. So many wrong things with how the poem was constructed (translated?). No one from Mazda PH had the guts to tell their Japanese bosses that it reads awkward or funny at the very least?
