Toyota Motor Philippines To Launch First-Ever Yaris Cross On August 4

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has confirmed: the first-ever Yaris Cross is officially launching on August 4. Before that, the country’s number one carmaker and leader in hybrid electric vehicles has opened reservations for their new compact crossover.

TMP says the Yaris Cross is its “best-packaged electrified vehicle yet.” As such, it’s expected to make electrified vehicle adoption in the country more practical and accessible to Filipino customers.

“We believe that the upcoming introduction of the all-new Yaris Cross will further boost the current evolving era of electrified mobility in the Philippines,” said Danny Cruz, TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations. “The HEV variant of the all-new Yaris Cross is further strengthening our widest lineup of electrified vehicles, and giving our customers an easier route to shift to high quality and reliable electrified mobility technology.”

The public is invited to witness the launch of the Yaris Cross at the Amphitheater of Bonifacio High Street at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Aside form the Yaris Cross, the carmaker will also be displaying its other hybrid electric vehicles such as the Camry, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, RAV4, and Zenix.

  4. How can it be "first ever" if its already a "another" version? The first-ever is the TNGA based version which we filipinos will just salivate

    1. For the Philippines, this is the first time that the Yaris is turned into a crossover, hence the first-ever adjective applied to the Yaris Cross, even if we don't get the original TNGA version.

    1. EVIDA Law reiterates what was written on the TRAIN Law. EVs given 100% exemption on excise tax, HEVs to be given 50% exemption on excise tax.

If not for the TRAIN Law, the various HEVs of Toyota-Lexus, Nissan and Mitsubishi will be priced higher than their current SRP. The EVs of BYD, Jetour, Lexus, Audi, BMW, Jaguar and Wuling will also have higher prices as well if not for the TRAIN Law.
